QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 08:47 PM)
I said in 1998 that Bonds and R. Henderson were the two greatest players of my generation.  Since then, Bonds has had a pretty good run!  However, I would say that ARod and Pujols are the two greatest players so far in the next generation of players.

Henderson is another guy that was worth the price of admission. No one liked Rickey more than Rickey did but a hell of a ballplayer. And Arod may end up being the best ever, Pujols right behind him.

1 more time...this one dedicated entirely to Tadahito Iguchi.

Doo doo doo doooo

Doo doo doo doooo

Doo doo doo doooo

Aaahhh

Aaahhh

Where have all the good men gone

And where are all the gods?

Where’s the street-wise Hercules

To fight the rising odds?

Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed?

Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need

I need a hero

I'm holding out for at hero 'till the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light

He’s gotta be sure

And it’s gotta be soon

And he’s gotta be larger than life

Lager than life

Doo doo doo doooo

Doo doo doo doooo

Doo doo doo doooo

Aaahhh

Aaahhh

Somewhere after midnight

In my wildest fantasy

Somewhere just beyond my reach

There’s someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat

It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light

He’s gotta be sure

And it’s gotta be soon

And he’s gotta be larger than life

I need a hero

I'm holding out for at hero 'till the the end of the night

---------

Up where the mountains meet the heavens above

Out where the lightning splits the sea

I could swear there is someone somewhere

Watching me

Through the wind and the chill and the rain

And the storm and the flood

I can feel his approach

Like a fire in my blood

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night

He’s gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And he's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night

Look out for Miggy Cabrera, he's still only 22 and putting up ridiculous numbers.

Question...why did Pods bat there?  He has been brutal with bases loaded all season.  That was a huge play in this game.

The only thing I could think of is if you put Anderson in Nathan comes in to pitch. That is probably a K. At least Pods avoided the DP.Borchard as a switch hitter may have been an option.

But he's hitting .360 in September.

People have to take him for what he is. He isn't Grady Sizemore and for that matter he isn't even Kenny Lofton. He is an OBP guy who usually plays a pretty decent left field. As far as all these caught stealing, I don't think he is fully healthy yet.

Romero had to pitch to that first batter.
