Some perspective on sox "collapse"

The sox haven't been playing good ball lately. No one is denying this. Yet besides the Indians, no one else is lighting it up either this month. Here are the records this month for the playoff contenders:

Cle--11-3

NYY 9-5

Sox 9-6

Bos 9-7

LAA 8-7

Oak 6-9

As far as worrying about Cle? If the sox keep up their pace of .600 ball, the sox could go 9-7 the rest of the season. That'll give them a 98-64 record. For Cle. to just tie the sox, they'd have to go 13-2. That's a tough thing to do. But hats off to them if they could pull it off. Also, the NYY's would have to go 14-2 to tie the sox for the wild card.

The AL pennant is up for grabs this year. All the sox need is a ticket to the playoff party to have a chance at the world series. Since the sox won't have to play Cle the first round, they'll likely face another team that has been playing .600 ball like themselves.

Go Sox! Stay healthy!

Well, if the Sox play .500 ball, then the Indians would have to go 12-3 to tie the Sox and the Yankees 13-3.

Thanks Beck. I feel much better now. Life is much easier to breathe...

Hopefully they can go 9-7 the rest of the way. BUT i think its very possible to Cleveland to go 13-2. Remember they have KC 5 more times and Tampa 3 times- not a difficult task with the way that they are playing. We basically control our own destiny. We have 6 games left with them- if we split (3-3 vs them) And go 6-4 against the other teams ( Minny, Detroit) were in. We control our own desitiny, now lets take one more in Minny and come home for the biggest series of the year!
