fathom
QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) We f***ING suck Yes we do! The way we're playing right now, there's about 20 other teams in baseball that I think would be the Sox in a 3 game series.
jphat007
QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) When did those walks occur? Listen to yourself. I gurantee 2/3rds of those walks were lead off walks, and that's what im talking about. Understand? 2 of those were leadoff walks. Neither came after after we just scored. Yah I understand. I understand you dont' have any clue what you are saying.
CWSOX45
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) He has 12 walks in his last 8 starts. You do the math. You don't know what you are talking about. All I'm saying is that Contreras has a tendency to walk lead-off guys after getting a lead. He's been doing it all year. He always gives up the "dreaded lead-off" walk. Earlier this season when he did that they usually scored, but as late he's been pretty good of stranding baserunners. My point is Contreras can't keep a guy off-base when it really counts. Look at the seasons he had in New York.

He's been doing it all year. He always gives up the "dreaded lead-off" walk. Earlier this season when he did that they usually scored, but as late he's been pretty good of stranding baserunners. Contreras is never going to have great control. At least he's able to prevent the other time from getting a lot of hits. It's a lot worse when the guy has no control and no ability to get hitters out.....like El Duque now!
CYGarland
QUOTE(downstairs @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) If we "f***ing suck".... then I guess the rest of the ENTIRE American League.... what... "f***ing sucks worse"? Right now we do, and for most of the 2nd half as well. It's becoming harder and harder to watch this team right now. I havent had a chance to watch Contreras in about three months since im in New Jersey, I probably am just recalling the lsat time I saw him pitch. That and I'm probably just arguing because I'm pissed at this team, at least I'm glad you proved me wrong and didn't call me names and s***. Kudos to ya. I just hope the Sox win so I can stop b****ing about random s***, it's really affecting my mental health...

I just hope the Sox win so I can stop b****ing about random s***, it's really affecting my mental health... There's no one on this board who likes to b**** about random s*** more than myself. However, Contreras is the absolute last person to complain about right now. I could think of about 30 people in the Sox organization who could be blamed about before I'd even think of blaming Contreras.

It said he walked Tyner to lead-off the inning. I really need WGN or MLB Extra Innings out here.
fathom
Gardenhire is treating this like a playoff game taking out Lohse already. What a disaster that we could only score one run against him.

Yeah, it's an amazing concept. Taking out your starting pitcher before they get in trouble that inning, instead of letting them put two runners on base.
