Tribe / Sox Series

Where the hell are all these Tribe fans coming from?

Their fans, whether from MLB.com or another member owned board, must have been aware of Soxtalk and decided to wait five months to register. After 4 years in the gutter, their fanbase has reemerged where they left off in 2001--cocky and arrogant.

Personally, I don't mind them here. If they maintain their composure and resist trolling then it should be interesting to hear comments from Indians' fans. Look at it this way: if Sox pervail, we gloat; if Sox lose this lead, we ban them. Win-win. :drink

I only decided to Chime in here at this time because I'm not sure there has EVER been a Six game (total) series as important between these two teams... at least not in recent memory and I think it's damn exciting.

I just think it's great for baseball overall, and for these two cities in particular.

These two blue-collar cities are gonna fight it out all over ESPN and the national media.

Godamn it's fun....

Go Tribe!!!!!

:cheers

Hopefully we'll pitch well and bang out enough hits.

Amazing, isn't it, that Cleveland kicked the living s*** out of the Royals as everybody on Sox talk knew they would after we lost 2 of 3 in KC.

That is not a very good sign entering this series, not a good sign at all.

GO SOX!

We haven't really played well at home in a while against a decent team. They have exactly seven more chances to make up for the months of home s***tiness we've had to sit through.

If the Indians sweep us, they better have earned it and not because of a no-show by the Sox. At the same time, I fully expect the Sox to come out firing at the Jake to end this season regardless of what happens this series.

I don't know why everyone keeps comparing our series with the Royals to the Indians series against the Royals. The Indians pretty much have to win from here on out to make the playoffs. The pressure is on THEM. Until this upcoming series the Sox have had no pressure on them. Can you blame them for not getting "fired up" for a series against the pushing 100 losses Royals?? I'm not saying that we shouldn't have won that series, because we should have, but we have much less at stake in losing a series to the Royals than say, the Indians. This is still our division to win, all we have to do is take 2 of 3 from the Indians, nothing that we haven't been doing all year long. I'll be willing to bet you see a completely different team Mon/Tues/Wed then we saw against the Royals last week

book it

Yes I can blame them. The Indians did what a superior team does against an inferior team, brush the crap Royals away like a fly on a sweater. Game two was close, but the Tribe never was in danger. The Sox, meanwhile, lost one game at home to KC and two at KC before about 25 fans total in the stands. This in the midst of all Soxdom lamenting one of the biggest choke jobs in history. Yes I expected the Sox to win all those games.

They were very very important. The Sox knew full well Cleveland was (is) on fire, so yes I see the losses to KC; compared with Cleveland's massacre of KC as discouraging.
