DonkeyKongerko
I'm curious how often people are searching. Some of the searches the Soxtalk database runs are pretty big, but I wonder if people are using it often. Searches also include when you click on a user's name to view all of his/her posts. Post some reasons why you search if you do it alot.
Texsox
I was looking for b****ass passionless Sox thread from two years ago. It felt right around 9:45 last night.

knightni
This site crashed the minute Crede hit that 10th inning homer last night. LOL!
SoxFan1
QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) This site crashed the minute Crede hit that 10th inning homer last night. LOL! The only reasons for that is the constant "Refresh"ing of pages. Especially in game threads. It went crazy though.
Balta1701
Is checking the "Today's top posters" list equivalent to searching?
southsider2k5
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Is checking the "Today's top posters" list equivalent to searching? Yes it is, and actually for whatever reason, that one is a bigger problem than most. That function hangs up all of the time and causes all kinds of problems. Before we upgraded to this invision board, that function didn't even work at all anymore.

Why do you look there? Do you just like to see "southsider2k5" every day???

knightni
The guests need to be restricted from searching. There are ALWAYS lurkers looking at REAL old threads.

Middle Buffalo
I've used it in the past to read old posts from people. Kind of helps form a better mental picture of some of the people who post. Eg. I read several pages of one of the more prolific soxtalk posters a few days ago and was surprised at how aggressive some of the early posts were. For whatever reason, I find that kind of search kind of entertaining when the current threads don't interest me. I also searched a topic before because I made a new thread one time and was reprimanded by one of the "10000+ post members" because the thread had already been introduced in the past. God forbid I make that mistake again.
