Wanne
I know this was probably hashed and rehashed....and second guessing has become second nature...but I just sat there all night wondering why.

I was wondering the same thing last night. Dye can be made to pop out far too easily (fastball in on the hands) for him to be up in that situation, especially with all the outfielders on the roster now. SoxFan562004
yeah, I know this is a piling on thread, but my biggest question last night was why he didn't pinch hit for Everett with Timo to bunt the leadoff man over. PK was hitting over .500 off the guy, and yes they would probably walk him, but Rowand was 4-9 off the guy!!! You pinch run Willie for speed with PK for double play threat, it was unreal I think Ozzie is trying to go with the guys that got them the lead and refuses to use his extended bench, must managers LOVE having a 3rd catcher, and Ozzie never uses him unless it's a blowout
GreatScott82
If Everett bunts Iguchi over in the 9th with nobody out- Pauly gets the winning hit. Instead Everett strikes in a big situation like he normally does. Lets face it- nobody is coming up with those clutch hits anymore.
fathom
Dye was swinging the bat well yesterday, and AJP isn't exactly tearing the cover off the ball. AJP is also a much bigger DP threat in that situation, while Dye usually hits a lot of fly balls. That was the right call by Ozzie.
DonkeyKongerko
I didn't feel like starting a thread about this, but I'm really just sick of watching Dye bat. I know he's trying to be patient but he's always taking at least one pitch per AB right down the pipe. He gets mistake pitches and fouls them off. He's not the only one guilty of this, but I'm just sick of him in the clutch.

If Ozzie replaced Dye with AJ, and AJ popped up, you guys would demand Ozzie's head! Hindsight is always BS!
