Gene Honda Civic
Since the calender changed to August, the Sox have a record of 9-1 in games started by Contreras and 15-25 in game started by anyone else. There's your "ace" folks.

Jordan4life_2007
Girlie, Judy, and Teddy haven't given us any reason to think otherwise.
The Critic
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) Girlie, Judy, and Teddy haven't given us any reason to think otherwise. Teddy? That's not a very good "insult". How about "Freida" or "Betty" instead, since you're going with the ever-popular "call a guy a girl, that'll really hurt him" tactic. SpringfieldFan
JC has to start game one. I would have said it before tonight's game too. The current Sox rotation is very good, but the key is that JC is the only one who can just blow a good hitter away. The other guys on the team are crafty pitchers who seem to be very good against mediocre hitters. However, we have seen that really smart patient hitters can fare well against Buehrle, Garcia, etc. by being patient and looking to make good contact. JC is of a different mold. Well, I could probably add BMac as well, but he is not "overpowering" in the same kind of way and, even as poised as he is, I would be nervous of him starting game 1. beck72
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 08:24 AM) Girlie, Judy, and Teddy haven't given us any reason to think otherwise. Those guys have pitched their asses off this year, despite their recent struggles. I'd still take our rotation and like our chances with those 4 guys over any of the other AL playoff probables. greasywheels121
This thread is beautiful, and you brought a tear to Contreras' eye.
