knightni
Bat him 7th and see if he can pull out of it. We got here this far with him. No use pissing off a starter when there is a division to win.
Greg The Bull Luzinski
It is unpopular, but I chose other for the hitting machine that is ROSS F'N Gload!

Rowand44
I'd do exactly what ozzie is doing. Put him down in the order and hope he gets out of it.

shawnhillegas
everyone on this board has a violent aversion to joe borchard. but we arent manufacturing runs anymore since podsednik is running like konerko and all of out wins are coming off big homers. borchard will at least give you some home runs.... Dick Allen
Bat him ninth. He's not helping at all right now. The Sox should be ready to play the World Series in an NL park, they've been playing without a DH for a month now. I really don't think its fair to any of the other guys to throw them in the line-up now after not doing anything for so long and expect them to be able to execute. Everett needs to look in the mirror, quit his b****ing and hit the baseball.
3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
where is the 'kick him in the balls' option?
CWSGuy406
Platoon.... Gload/Anderson/Everett. There's pitchers this year where you can just sort of tell that Everett won't hit well... like Liriano today. I'm not saying Anderson would do a better job, but you put Anderson out in RF, and DH Dye -- and you improve for that day. It might not mean much in that particular day, buy you're a better defensive team with Anderson out in RF. Carl, for whatever reason, has been an on-month/off-month player this year. Good (using it loosely) in April, pathetic in May, spectacular in June, awful in July, good in August, pathetic in September. I'm not going to take anything from that, and say that he's bound to redeem himself in October -- that's just dumb. But he needs to get going, ASAP, because I honestly believe that Anderson and Gload could do a much better job than Carl is currently doing... chisoxfan79
Bench him for a few days for either Borchard or Anderson just to see what one of these two can do for a few games in the heat of a pennat race. If they do not do well then go back to Everett.
Texsox
tell him he is being rested for the 1st round of the playoff then tell him he is being rested for the League Championship the tell him he's being rested for the World Series ~~or~~ keep playing him and you know he's going to have a streak to balance the suck. Ozzie Montana
He's play badly right now but we can't rely on the others. He's got to get out of his funk and fast.

Ok, that's fair. He's been awful as of late you're going to get no argument out of me there. However, I think he's earned a spot in the lineup as he has been productive most of the season. He should never bat 3rd again though.
fathom
There's a difference between keeping him as a "starter", and resting him a game or two to sit back, relax, and not press so hard. Everett should still be the Sox DH, but he should also get a day off soon, as he's in a terrible mindset at the plate. But ozzie feels the needs to play him just about every game, there's no reason for that.
