The teacher called the Secret Service. the story doesnt say what the kids said...the fact that this story didnt report what the students said speaks volumes...this is a one sided report... im guessing they made some kind of specific threat on the presidents life...whatever they said it scared the teacher enough to call the secret service..this stuff happened more than once under the clinton administration...you make a threat on the life of the president and youre gonna get a little visit... the disturbing part , if true , is the secret service questioning the kids w/o parental notification...if that did happen and it went down the way this report says it did a couple of agents at the least should get harsh reprimands and depending on prior history could get fired.. i wish i know what these kids said...it had to be dist urbing for a teacher to react to it that way Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or, as seen in other cases at schools, they might have been a reactionary. [school in Michigan where a kid wore the kid was forced to take the shirt off and was sent home. Another kid wore a this kid was detained by the Secret Service saying that the shirt "represented a threat on the President's life." If you've got something to say then say it at the voting booth or call, write, e-mail your congressman. That's the way the system was intended & that's what I do. If we ever get back to community rights in this country, then the teacher won't have to call the secret service next time. All he'll have to do is say "class what do you think of what these 2 just said?" and hopefully he'll let some of them respond in non-verbal ways. Same thing with the t-shirts. You should check out the research done by Greg Palast and numerous other journalists. Secondly, freedom of speech allows people to wear shirts saying that the Unelected Asshat is not our President. So I agree the secret service have no business getting involved. This matter should be handled by the community & the Fed should mind it's own business. Fascism grows from Federal influence on society & not community influence. The stronger the community & weaker the Fed the less opportunity for thought control via legislation. People should be free to rule themselves while government provides for the national defense & GENERAL well-being of it's citizens. It's not government's role to protect and enforce every bleeping special interest some candy ass flaming liberal thinks he's entitled to. So yeah the kid's got the right to wear treasonist t-shirts that show disrespect to the president, the supreme court, and the rest of our nations institution. But in a responsible nation you should be ready to face the consequences of such actions. Just like the flamers who plan to sue Oreo & Mc D"s because of their fat & high cholesterol life-styles. :fyou. They should learn to be responsible for their own :fyou lives & lifestyles. To be more precise, the Democratic machine produced more votes for Gore in the big metros than Bush could manage from the independant & conservative voters. That's why we live in a Republic of United States. It's not about who wins 5 cities but rather who has the largest representation in each of the 50 states. Bush won many more states than Gore. Now I don't much care for the winner take all system used in many states, but if you negate that Bush still wins the majority of electoral votes. And since the population shift is moving to the conservative South & Southwest each year, it bodes well for his 2004 re-election and for conservatives in general if they ever do away with the winner take all system in most states. I have no doubt that your marine son would win the duel. He's probably several yrs younger than I am. Though my kickboxing skills are not exactly novice. But that's beside the point.
