Free agent after next year. But they could play podsednik in left since juan encarnacion is a free agent at season's end. But would there really be a need for three lead-off hitters?

Don't worry Ozzie isn't leaving Chicago. This is the only place he'll manage.

I bet he stays here for a little less money. we gave him the second chance, and he really likes it here. I doubt TONS of money means a whole lot to a guy like him.

It probably means more to him than most FA pitchers. He hasn't been cashing in his whole career, so this is his one chance to really break the bank (even though he had a big deal coming into the majors).

ATTN Please:

If I see again that ANYONE wants Juan Pierre I'm going to puke. He is a lesser version of Pods at the plate this year. He hasn't been near as good as Pods.

.274 .326 .352

No thank you.

^^^^

He's been awful this year.

Jason, I personally don't put a whole lot of stock into BA.

I'll look at slugging and OBP over BA any day.

I think a mix of both on your team is a great way to go. You need guys to get on base, but you also need guys to be able to get hits and knock runs in. That's why the Damon/Ortiz/Manny trio is so awesome.

Pierre is WAY more established than podsednik is. I feel he has a very good chance of bouncing back. What was our current lead-off hitters number in 2004 btw?

They all hit for average though.
