Rex Kickass
Quote I've overseen over 150 presidentially declared disasters. I know what I'm doing, and I think I do a pretty darn good job of it Former FEMA Chief Mike Brown Quote I'm happy you left. That kind of look in the lights like a deer tells me you weren't capable of doing that job. Chris Shays R-CT Quote The disconnect was, people thought there was some federal expertise out there. There wasn't. Not from you. Gene Taylor D-MS Quote I don't know how you can sleep at night. You lost the battle. Kay Granger R-TX By the way, Mike Brown is charged by FEMA (and is getting paid for it) to investigate the failings of Mike Brown at FEMA during the Katrina disaster. Soxy
QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) I hear that the Brownie bribed Congress with Thin Mint Cookies. Who wouldn't take that bribe? Beats pork anyday!
1549
I don't know...hard to blame the guy. I am a liberal, but I must say that this is the kind of thing you can never be prepared for. Unless it actually happens, you don't know how the s*** is going to go down. I can not blame Bush, FEMA, or the government for early Katrina failures. Where they have to prove themselves is recovering the city, and keeping these people on their feet.
Rex Kickass
Brownie and Chertoff were denying that people were at the Convention Center in New Orleans three days after the hurricane. They were denying it despite video and audio reports. They knew the magnitude of this storm and were asleep at the wheel.
