White Sox Josh
Most Valuable Player: Tadahito Iguchi- He hit behind Podsednik all season long and has sacrificed himself for the good of the team. Excellent at hitting behind the runner and doing all the little things. Is the Sox best all-around hitter. Most Vauable Pitcher: Jose Contreras- A huge question mark coming into the season he had a stellar season and won 15 games despite getting little or no run support during the first 2 months of the season. He should have 20 wins by now. Most Improved Player: Jon Garland- Finally took the next step from being a .500 pitcher to being a 17-20 win pitcher. He improved his control and started throwing inside more. Coming in everybody would be just fine if he put up numbers that he had his entire career. He has done much more than that. Most Pleasant Surprise: Neal Cotts- He started as a mop-up man and ended up being one of the top setup men in the game. He has given up 1 Home Run this season with his ERA hovering in the high 1's. Biggest Disappointment: Aaron Rowand- A lot of players would be happy with a .275 average and 13 Home Runs. Aaron Rowand was coming off of a seaon with 24 Home Runs and a .310 Batting Average. This only came in 489 At Bats. People expected to him hit around 30 Home Runs however he hasn't delivered.
Felix
MVP: Paul Konerko. Enough said. AJ Pierzynski is a close runner up for me simply because how he has handled the pitching staff throughout the year. CY Young: I dont really care what you say, but Mark Buehrle. Whether he's been down or up, he's carried the staff (I know I'm going to hear s*** about this one) Most Improved: Jon Garland. Isnt really a question, considering he might have turned his career around. Most Pleasant Surprise: Cliff Politte. Simply dominant out of the pen. Biggest Disappointment: Shingo Takatsu. I was expecting him to have a great year this year, and he ended up being released.

KipWellsFan
Most Valuable Player:Paul Konerko Most Vauable Pitcher:Jose Contreras, our 4 top starters have been great but I give the nod to The Count because he's been great when we needed someone to step up Most Improved Player:Jon Garland Most Pleasant Surprise:Jon Garland Biggest Disappointment:Shingo Takatsu
RX Bandits
Most Valuable Player: Podsednik. I know he doesnt hit but look how we played when he was injured. Most Vauable Pitcher: Buehrle. Hasn't pitched well as of late but was MONEY at first half. Most Improved Player: Jon Garland- no contest. Could maybe make a case for Contreras (14 wins is not too bad for a 5th starter) Most Pleasant Surprise: Cotts/Dye/A.J./Hermanson it's too hard to pick Biggest Disappointment: Aaron Rowand- I think he has 13 homeruns this year. I really thought this would be his breakout year. Close second is Shingo

GoRowand33
MVP:Konerko-Just as good as last year with a better team CY:Contreras-never thought I'd say this but he saved our asses second half Most Improved: Garland-No Question Here Rookie: Iguchi-also no question Defensive-Tie between jermaine and rowand, rowand was more steady while jermaine made some great plays Biggest Game: Vs Cleveland last tuesday(I even wrote a paper about watching it)
Kid Gleason
Anybody think Crede needs some love somewhere? The guy went from being a pox on the team to suddenly looking like a seriously great player to be someday. He turned a HUGE corner, especially in the second half. rowandrules83
MVP-Tadahito Iguchi-represents the idea that this team was built upon. 25 guys playing for one goal. gave himself up many times for the good of the team Cy Young-Garland, Buehrle, Contreras-ok, its a cop-out on my part to pick 3 guys, but i feel they all helped at different crucial points. garland started 8-0, buehrle dominated from approximately may to early july, and contreras has been incredible since the break Most Improved-Garland-no explanation necessary, i think Most Pleasant Surprise-A.J.-i had my doubts when he came over after hearing all those "cancer" stories. But i have to say i've never been happier to be completely wrong on a player Biggest Disappointment-Marte-remember like two years ago when he was at his nastiest? seems like decades ago. incredibly frustrating Best sideburns-Joe Crede-Hermanson looked like he had this one locked up, but when joe busted out those mutton chops i was absolutely flabbergasted

So what your telling me is you have proof OG told KW to sign Dye? Told KW to Trade for Posednik? Sign Dustin Hermanson? Sign Iguchi? Trade for Count? Please, I'd like a link. Nevermind, such a thing doesn't exit. KW built this team through and through.

I really thought this would be his breakout year. Close second is Shingo When you say disappointment I think it has to be somebody who brought nothing to the team and Aaron has been disappointing at the plate the last two months but remember the clutch hits like the 3-run homer off of Trevor Hoffman in San diego or who kept the game alive against the Dodgers so A.J. could hit the walkoff homer and he brought his defense all year. I think the biggest disappointment has to be Shingo starts off as the closer, then mopup man, then out of town. BTW It be nice to have that game against the Indians back you know the third game of the year.

witesoxfan
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) Yes. And at the very least, he and KW did it together. Did they hold hands while doing it too? KW listened to what Ozzie wanted to do, and he went out and put a team out there that he thought Ozzie would like. Ozzie probably just said a fast leadoff hitter that steals bases and gets on base, a SS, an OFer to replace Maggs, another starter, and some bullpen depth. KW got 4.5 out of the 5...he missed out on Vizquel, so Uribe had to be the starting SS while the Sox had to settle for Iguchi. AJP was of course a gift from heaven for the Sox pretty much. witesoxfan
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Ozzie mouth built this team..Not KW.. KW had 4 years to build a team and see what happenend..4 years of 2nd place. He put a team that had the talent to win the division on the field every year he could(2002 was probably the lone exception...01 he brought in Wells, 03 he brought in Colon and Koch, 04 he brought in FG in June, and this past year he's done what he's done), and every year except this year, they all underachieved. The 2003 Sox were one of the best teams in the majors...if not the best...talent wise, and they should have been much, much more than an 86 win team. If that team had a good leadoff hitter all year long, they win 95-100 games in all likelyhood, and perhaps the Series.
