Jim Fainter
Adkins had another rough outing Sunday for Charlotte. Was he scouted personally by KW?
southsider2k5
Jon Adkins wasn't doing much in the Oakland organization which is reknown for developing pitchers. Why would anything think that we could do better with him?

Why would anything think that we could do better with him? Alot of posters on this board were pretty high on Adkins the day of the trade and still are to this day. I'm not nor have I ever been one of them. Another deal KW got the Sox reamed in.

Rex Hudler
FWIW, I have heard from coaches that Adkins does have very good stuff. Obviously, one needs more than just "stuff".

I've heard the same, but when its all the same speed, thats when your in trouble. I won't give up on him, but I don't personally rank him too high. YASNY
If Adkins were a topnotch pitching prospect, do you really think Beane would have lethim get away?
Grebeck Fan Club
Of course not. Oakland prefers guys who produce over 'stuff'.
espnjohn1
Since the SOX have so many guys fail in the arm dept when they reach the ML's, Adkins isn't even worth my time looking through his stats. He hasn't proven a thing until he can do it the ML's. And I think if he really had a good chance for that Beane would have kept him & fleeced KW some other way.
