I forgot hoe much we sucked in ST You don't remember all of the b****ing about Ozzie's line ups? He played the minor leagues kids a lot. Turns out that was pretty smart in retrospect, as it got guys like Jenks, McCarthy, and Anderson some valuable experience that is probably helping them out now. kapkomet
Most people would b**** if we went 35-0 by playing every veteran in ST. Or on the flip side, 0-35 by playing the young kids and getting them experience. Or even, .500ish in ST by doing a mixture of both. It doesn't matter, Ozzie is a dips*** no matter what he does. Kid Gleason
Critic and I were at the exhibition game in Milwaukee on April 1st. I can tell you that we both left that place fearful of the season. The team was TERRIBLE until the 9th inning. Then they showed some life, but up until then...phew...it stunk. I forgot hoe much we sucked in ST Well, one thing held true....the Cubs were 3 games under .500 in Spring Training, and that's probably where they're going to end up for the year, too.... That was a tough game to watch. I left that game thinking I was looking at an 85-win team at best. Shows what I know.....
Balta1701
The only thing I'm concerned with about what Ozzie did in Spring Trainign, and this will stand for the next few years too...is that he might not have gotten all of his pitchers enough work. We saw at the beginning of the year a rash of last year's best closers struggling, and it may very well have been due to them not getting enough innings in the spring. Shingo, Rivera, Nathan, Foulke, Kolb, all started the year blowing saves. Some of them never recovered. Dah well. As long as we got off to a good April.
