Even though we clinched...

I really don't want to hear any bulls*** about we actually "tied" for the best record with Cleveland. I know all about the series total and all...but I'd feel alot better if we at least got one W there (as moot as it might seem).

Plus...I don't want to go into the playoffs on a "losing" note...and I'm sure nobody else does either. The good thing is...WE'RE IN though. A good friend of mine is an Indians fan...and I know he'd whine all f***in winter about it.

You need new friends. :P

Just kidding. I agree with you. We need to keep the recent surge going.

You nailed this one on the head. I don't want to end the season on a sour note and tie the Tribe for the best record. Yes I know we'd still be the Champs but it just feels better if you can be on the top by yourself.

Also the Sox have to play to win because they haven't clinched home field advantage yet and I know I'd rather play more games at the Cell in a 5 or 7 game series than at some place like Boston or New York.

Just call Ozzie and tell him about your friend and I'm certain he'll do all he can to win a game.

Keep guys healthy, rested, give the September call ups plenty of ABs, and get ready for Tuesday. These guys are smart enough to know the next three games are nothing but Spring Training Part 2. Tell the Tribe fans we mailed in the last three and would have kicked their ass if it mattered. There is no reason to worry about these games. These aren't little leaguers.

I'd love to see Boston and Cleveland go 2-1 this weekend. A three-way tie would be so sweet, and fun to watch. Burn those arms.

exACTly. This is what we should be cheering for. And since I don't like going into the playoffs on a losing note, I would put out crap the first two nights and then get them ready by playing them tough on Sunday night and hope to pull out a win. Then hope Boston wins a few in their series.

I'd love to play Boston in the 1st round. They could have Arroyo start game one, Schilling game two, and Tim Wakefield game 3. With how bad their bullpen has been, they're ripe for the picking.

Exactly. Boston is a hell of a lot easier than the Angels in a short series.

Yeah i agree with the idea of putting the crap lineups and putting Buehrle and Garland on short leashes the first 2 days than the last game get the starters in there so they can get some ab's and still be fresh for the playoffs and Brandon is starting so he can go as long as we need him to go.

First 2 games though would be nice to give Buehrle 5-6 innings and than El Duque finnish the rest than the 2nd game have baj, sanders, viz finish it off rest the bullpen.

I completely agree. I'd rather face Boston than Anaheim/Orange County/Los Angeles/etc. We'd be facing Colon in Game 1 and they'd have a well rested BP as well.

NYY have been nearly as hot as CLE the past two months. If BOS & CLE go 2-1 this weekend then NYY win the ALE & BOS & CLE play for the WC. CLE will NOT have a better record than either NYY or BOS so H2H will decide the ALE. NYY will have a 10-9 adv in that scenario.

If BOS beats CLE we would play BOS in the opening round. If CLE beats BOS we would play either NYY or LAA (I think it will be LAA). LAA needs to sweep the Rangers in Texas to reach 95 wins. I think that's doubtful.

BOS vCWS 4-3, vCLE 4-2, vLAA 6-4, vNYY 7-9

LAA vCWS 6-4, vCLE 5-3, vNYY 6-4

NYY vCWS 3-3, vCLE 4-3

No, that's incorrect. If Boston and Cleveland go 2 and 1 then the yanks and bosox play for the al east title on monday, after that the loser would play the Indians for the wildcard on Tuesday.

This article neglected the fact that there is only a 1 gm playoff to decide a division when the front runner for the WC finishes with a better record than the two divisional opponents. The reason being is that the loser of that 1 gm playoff goes home. They do not have a chance at the WC.

The CWS eliminated that possibility & that is why they clinched the ALC on Thurs.

With that being said a better source is needed for a 3-way tie.
