WASHINGTON — Federal auditors said Friday that the Bush administration had violated the law by:

 

• Making payments to conservative commentator and S.C. native Armstrong Williams

 

• Hiring a public relations company to analyze media perceptions of the Republican Party

 

• Purchasing favorable news coverage of President Bush’s education policies.

 

In a blistering report, the investigators from the Government Accountability Office said the administration had disseminated “covert propaganda” in violation of a longstanding explicit ban.

There's a difference between buying off media outlets/spokespeople and putting up commercials.

We aren't using the Education or HHS department money to fund MoveOn. There's a big difference.

 

Did Clinton do VNR's and such? Absolutely. It's wrong across the board. America the government shouldnt be trying to win over America the people with propaganda. That's just wrong.
