Balta1701
Do not walk people. Frighteningly simple. They are going to hit a couple home runs off of us. Nothing we can do. They will get their hits and their run from those. Don't give them the free pass. Give the defense a chance to get outs.

nitetrain8601
Patience at the plate is a big one. Looking at the Red Sox board and basically, their pitchers(especially Clement) will do bad against us if we're patient.
RME JICO
I think the games will all come down to more of the intangibles, than the standard pirching vs hitting. 1. Limit walks and leadoff hits 2. Solid Baserunning 3. Solid Defense 4. Someone must step up
beck72
The sox must take advantage of their scoring opportunities
TLAK
Hang in there and get to the bullpens. The Red Sox are going to score some runs so don't jump off a cliff when it happens. The White Sox need to play all 9 innings. I'll take our chances with White Sox hitters against the Red Sox bullpen.

BHAMBARONS
QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) I gotta agree with the Damon pick. He's their version of Podsednik, and Pods seems to be a popular choice too. If we can keep Damon off the basepaths, the power Manny and Papi flash will be damaging, but minimally so. And if Damon doesn't get one, that's one less thing for the pitcher to concentrate on. Not that they've had much trouble with forgetting about baserunners. Lets face it, Manny and Ortiz are going to burn us a few times. It's just something we gotta live with. But we can't give them free runs by letting the leadoff man get away with stuff. Anyway, we got this sheet covered! I agree as well Damon along with Edgar Renteria keep these 2 off base limits the damage that Papi and Manny can do. JUGGERNAUT
I've changed my mind. More important than obsessing over Ortiz & Manny are quality starts. If the White Sox get QS from Contreras & Buehrle the rest is history. This staff has proven time & again that they feed off each other. That's the biggest reason why we have 99 wins.
