Wiredawg1
From an extremely dissapointed Tribe fan I'd like to wish you guys the best of luck in the playoffs. I hate the Red Sox and the even more the Yanks. I hope you guys sweep your way to the WS. I have to admit I felt like the tribe was a better fit for the post season but after seeing the way they folded in the last week, I see the better club advanced. Good luck, and hopefully the Tribe will give you guys more resistance next year.
danman31
Deja Vu all over again. Didn't the Tribe get within a game of the Twins last year to fold at the end like this year? Next year should be the Indians year. With some adjustments they are right there. It should be a hell of a dog fight. I too expected the Tribe to be able to do some serious damage in the playoffs. but, alas, this year was not their year. Plus we might have had primetime. I'll take baking in the sun though. SpringfieldFan
Thanks for the good wishes and congratulations to the tribe on that tear they went on down the stretch. Perhaps the experience is what the Sox needed to get out of their funk and become playoff ready. As far as the Indians, I really fear they could control the division like they did in the early/mid 90's with that balance and youth they have. How about we have two representatives from the central in the playoff years ahead? SFF
ceffa2000
Yeah I really wanted bragging rights for having the WC come out of the Central for the first time. I'm sick of this Boston/Yankees circle-jerk. Next year its time to end this s***.
Punch and Judy Garland
Thanks for the well wishes, I would root for the Tribe over the hated East teams too. I hope you guys can keep Millwood, he's a big part of you guys moving on to the playoffs next year

Kid Gleason
Thank Wire! I wrote this on another board I frequent: For all of my hatred for the Indians (and that only comes from them beating up on my team during the 90's), and all the excitement I had watching the Sox sweep in the end, I felt bad with them not getting a final win. I also have tons of respect for the fans in Cleveland, who even though their team lost that final game and lost out on a post-season chance, stood at the park after the last out applauding a wonderful season, a wonderful game, and I would have to think, the White Sox for giving their team a heck of a fight in the end of the year. Easily this was one of the most exciting seasons I have ever seen. I only hope the White Sox can take it all the way (go wire to wire completelty), as I really don't think next year will be much fun with those dang Indians in there. Now here I sit, about 6 1/2 hours to the ball is first thrown out by ol' no. 35! Then the White Sox take the field for a battle between two of the most storied franchises in baseball (one of them for much better reasons than the other), and two of the oldest. I'm getting nervous. I also just realized that my company has season tickets to Sox games. I'm also realizing the bastards have never given me any of them. I am now using that as my weapon in trying to get the owner to give up ONE play-off ticket. It's a sore spot for me, don't ask why I never got to use any of the season tickets... My mind is now wandering. On top of my monitor in front of me I have a bunch of stuff. In that stuff is a laser etched wood ball for the White Sox my Dad got me. Next to it, a Fenway Park ball my boss got for me when he went to Boston a few years ago. The battle, right there. On the other side of the laser ball is a Devil Rays Rubicks Cube style thing from their innaugral season that my daughter got me from a dollar store for Christmas a few years ago. That's the team that really helped my Sox get where they are by sweeping the Indians. Next to that? A ball signed by the family of Roger Maris. The team my guys might need to beat to get to the Series. Also up there is a barrel of monkeys, a Celebrator goat, a real rubicks cube, the Green Goblin, Gamera, Godzilla, Baragon, and a rubber rat. Give me time today, and as I sit and wait for dreams to begin or fade, I am sure I can come up with a connection for all of them. Godzilla bats for New York now and was in GODZILLA X MECHAGODZILLA...there is one...

WilliamTell
Thanks, I'd wish the Indians luck for next year, but they won't need it. They're going to be a very solid team and I assume many will pick them to win the division.
nitetrain8601
I actually don't hate the Indians like in the 90's. Maybe it's just that I respect them. I would've love to seen them face the Yanks. It would've been great to have an all AL Central ALCS.
White Sox Josh
Dude I wanted to see the Indians in the Wild Card so the AL Central could have 2 teams in the playoffs.
Texsox
Thanks wiredawg! I always pull for the Al Central team, then the AL. I wouldn't hang my head too much, I's be counting the days until next season. I'm guessing everyone picking the Tribe.
Chisoxfn
Thanks for the kind words wiredawg. That was a good battle down the stretch and right now I'm focused on this year, but when the off-season roles around (hopefully with the Sox wearing a ring) I'm definately gonna be looking at the Indians. They have quite a few key free agents (millwood and most of there pen) but they definately have a great nucleus and are going to once again be a big time rival of the Sox (and I have to believe the Twins will also rebound, they were ravaged with injuries this year). The AL Central is no longer the doormat of the AL, in fact, I think its got a shot to be one of the best divisions in all of baseball the next couple years. Once again thanks for the kind words and hopefully you'll stop by along the way and in the off-season to discuss baseball with fellow baseball fans
witesoxfan
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Dude I wanted to see the Indians in the Wild Card so the AL Central could have 2 teams in the playoffs. Why would you hope that? Indians of 2005 = White Sox of 2003. Both teams would(should) have been World Series favorites. Both teams "choked" at the end. This is nothing against you wire...I do happen to like the Indians, just not in the same division. I just gotta wonder what's gonna happen with the SP next year. Minor leaguers coming up, resignings...?
