cwsox
I just read the article - al queda is committing terrorism in Saudi? wow. that is a new stage, a remarkable new development - and not a good one - bin Laden is now bombing his own people - and perhaps his own family - and given the corruptness of the Saud family and the absolute lack of any type of democracy in Saudi Arabia and the closeness of the royal family with the Bush family and the pretty extreme radical fundamentalism of the saudi arabian people - there are so many elements at play here - frightening. If I were in Jordan or Eqypt, I'd be wondering if I were next. Or will this continue in Saudi. If a popular revolution takes place that brings down the Saud family (and no one knews really whether the king is alive or dead or is severly senile) every balance of power will be changed. This is big news. And not welcome or pleasant to contemplate.

LowerCaseRepublican
No, that will never stop. This war kept your sorry ass safer than you would have been........ Explain to me how toppling a 3rd world dictator who had nothing to do with 9/11 made me safer? Last time I checked, according to the UN and INTERPOL, "Al Qaeda is poised and ready to strike again." Last time I checked, according to the UN and INTERPOL, "Al Qaeda is poised and ready to strike again." I didnt say anything about 911. You said it yourself, a DICTATOR. I realize he wasnt leading a huge country, but you and the rest of the world are a lot safer now. Im not for or against the war over there. People died, so its hard to say im for it, but i believe more people were saved.......if you are educated, im sure you realize the same thing. Though there is no single pc of evidence linking Saddam's regime directly to 9/11 there is a 30 yr history of Saddam supporting terrorist organizations & the Jihad in attacks against Israel. This is well documented. So to say that Saddam linked money, arms, & equipment played no role whatsoever is nieve . As for continuing this into Saudi land, well given that every 9/11 terrorist had a Saudi passport & was a Saudi citizen why the hell not? Is there any question that weeding out the terrorist element in Saudi Arabia would 1) make the world safer 2) make oil prices more stable No one's for war, but when you posess miliary sat tech far & above what any one else has that allows you to wipe out the enemy in a month's time it's really ridiculous panty-waste thinking to fear Egypt, Lybia, Jordan, or any other nation housing Jihadists. I dont fear our country being destroyed. When America is being defended, its not just our homeland, its each and every citizen.
