IlliniKrush
They showed a quote he had today saying he's being fed garbage and that if the pitchers don't give in there is nothing he can do Basically the baseball tonight crew of Ravech, Gammons, and Reynolds were dumbfounded....they were like "this is frank thomas???" Gammons is like "he had magglio ordonez hitting behind him...what more does he want?" They were pretty much ripping him apart for what he said. Chisoxfn
If you watch his at bats you'll see he gets plenty of pitches to hit. This right here tells me that he just doesn't have the plate coverage he used to. I've heard some scouts have been talking about his diminished bast speed and I really think he's on the downside of what was a great career. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not going to sit around expecting him to have another MVP season.
Guest hotsoxchick1
jas see the other post about this... frank along with shamme and bonds to name a few others were complaining about the umps and getting a ton of strike called pitches inside.... cant say as i blame them.. this season frank has seen more inside pitching than i can recall him ever seeing.........and the umps are calling pretty crappy games....(see the seattle series for point in hand)........i dont think i really can blame frank for this one..... hes got a valid point..............as do bonds and shamme.......the umps suck this season........ HSC, the umpire bashing (however justified) aside, the biggest differentce between Sosa/Bonds and Thomas is that the former two can sit on a curveball and still adjust to a 96mph fastball chest-high and hit it a ton...whereas Hurt was blown away by Moyer's 81 mph'er in the zone the other day. Issue closed.
CubKilla
this season frank has seen more inside pitching than i can recall him ever seeing Because he either refuses to swing at the inside pitch or he can't hit it. Frank's best years are in his rearview mirror. ML pitching, as if they weren't already, are gonna eat him up alive inside.

Chisoxfn
Look at Sosa and Bonds numbers, then tell me when Sosa's numbers this year come even close to theirs. I love Frank a ton, but he simply isn't cutting it and making excuses for it sounds more like a guy that knows he can't cut it. Bonds and Sosa whine, but they are still performing. Heck, look at Edgar Renteria and others, they are performing.
