Ozzie Montana
The game drew a crowd of 16,533, even though the White Sox were playing Game 2 of their ALDS with Boston a few miles away at U.S. Cellular Field. Im glad people came out to the UC. That is a pretty decent number guys. Edited October 6, 2005 by Ozzie Montana
SuperSteve
The last ten years I lived in Chicago, I cannot remember seeing more than a game per season, and often times it was when I went to the game. Hockey is almost dead in Chicago for a reason and should stay that way IMHO.

Pauly8509CWS
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) No hitting That's the one thing about hockey "fans" that I dont understand. They act like hitting means youre going to win. And hitting is going to make your team better. It's a shame that these fans think that hitting is such a big part of the game. Its a method to steal the puck, not kill someone. So if the team isnt as physical but still gets the job done, I'm ok with that. Saying not hitting enough is a reason for losing is horrible. The game was lost on bad defensive decisions and too many penalties, and poor goaltending.

SnB
i can see myself being a semi-casual fan by the end of the year, it would probably be a hella lot more if you could watch all the games on TV, especially in the dead months of january-february. Heads22
That's horrible that you guys can't watch local Blackhawks games, but the Iowa Stars minor league hockey team is on tv here...

Kalapse
I'd say if I was able to see some of the home games on TV I might become a causual fan, however with only 41 locally televised games, it's hard for me to find any interest in the Blackhawks. I don't see this changing anytime soon.
DBAHO
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) I wrote this team off back in 1998 dude. I know that, and you're the biggest pessimist for the Hawks around here, but you gotta admit they at least did a good job in the off-season. As for the PP, when Spacek comes back, I think that'll be a lot better, with him and Aucoin on the point. Special Teams are going to be really crucial this season though. BUt the 10 dollar seats are nice. New coach, lots of new players, they weren't going to click from game one. It's players like Tyler Arnason and Mark Bell that will determine whether the Hawks will make the playoffs though. Can they become 60+ point scorers? CWSGuy406
Vorobiev, two goals tonight. He looked really impressive in the preseason, and Tallon sounds extremely impressed. Like I said, two goals tonight (so far), and I believe an assist. Finally showing some of that scoring touch that we heard so much about!
