Hard hitting and physical isnt the Hawks makeup. They dont have a proven power forward, like a Bertuzzi, theyre going to win games by out hustling and playing better defense than other teams. The new rules are supposed to help these guys with lower talent score goals. Ruutu, Bell, and Barnaby are the heavy hitting forwards, none of which are imposing. Vandermeer is the big defensive threat. None of which would classify this team as a tough physical team. They're young and have the potential to be very talented. Sure, theyre scrappy, but most 20 something North American forwards are. Theres no lack of heart, but they dont scare anyone by there physical play, especially without an enforcer. Theres no lack of heart, but they dont scare anyone by there physical play, especially without an enforcer. you really don't need an enforcer like player to play a brand of game that the hawks are tryint ot do and again i never mention that that hawks are trying to scare any team by their play. all i said is that the hawks are built and it was mention in the summer before the draft a team that will take the body and be physical. hence the draft of big talented players. are you saying that the hawks are not built to be a hard hitting team, a team to put a body on the other team, to disrupt their game. out hustling and playing good defence is the basic plan for all teams and that is the recipe to win. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.
