The Ginger Kid
I saw a terrific documentary last night called Inside Deep Throat. It's about the 1972 porno film which was made for $25,000 and to date has made $600 million. It's a fascinating history lesson on culture and politics with some pretty terrific interviews as well. It's NC-17 for obvious reasons, but don't mistake it for a skin flick because it's not. I of course had heard of the film but had no idea of its impact on the law, society and popular culture. Anyone else see this film?

The Ginger Kid
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) i heard about it. Wasnt Deep throat basically an underage rape? no, not at all. Linda Lovelace (Borman was her real last name) was in her 20s and was paid for her work. Later on she claimed she was raped but then recanted. Kyyle23
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) no, not at all. Deep throat set the tone for modern day pornos, and is the highest grossing porn ever, right?

longshot7
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) no, not at all. Linda Lovelace (Borman was her real last name) was in her 20s and was paid for her work. Later on she claimed she was raped but then recanted. She was kept in a cage for the duration of the filming and was forced to be in the film by her "boyfriend", the director. If that isn't rape, I don't know what is. KipWellsFan
whenever I need a laugh I read Deep Throat's plotline on imdb Linda, frustrated that her hugely energetic sex life leaves her unsatisfied, seeks medical help. The doctor informs her that the reason for her problem is that her clitoris is mistakenly located at the back of her throat - but there is a very simple remedy, which the doctor, and various other men, proceed to demonstrate... KipWellsFan
Wilbur Wang: [on the telephone with Dr. Young] You gotta help me. I'm in love with Linda. We want to get married... thank you. There's only one problem - she needs a nine inch cock. Linda: How would you like it if you had balls in your ears? Dr. Young: [pause] I guess I could hear myself coming! I'm so warped.
