Stop being so dumb.... He does that type of s*** after every HR.  If AJ ran over every guy he saw that was on the ground you might have a point.

And don't forget, AJ (even if it was intentional) can back up his attitude on both sides of the ball unlike Mr. "Holy s***, the 28972348723479'th fly ball of the season has flown over my head! Thank you Jesus for that 37 foot wall behind me making me look not-so-mediocre!" Manny Ramirez.

In Damon's defense, it should be noted, that the entire second half he was playing injured aswell.

Doesn't surprise me. A .343 OBP and a .740 or so OPS in the second half clearly signals something was wrong.

What bugs me about it is players consistently playing through pain, especially when they are not putting up numbers they should be putting up. Damon is a .380-.400 OBP when healthy, but when he's not, he's .340...there is a huge difference, one being very good, one being very mediocre or even bad. Why not go after a Matt Lawton type who, while relatively bad in the second half of the season, would likely have been helped out enormously by hitting in Fenway Park.

Thankfully, Damon can talk up a storm, and for whatever reason, the chicks dig him...so he'll get $10 million a year from whomever, and put up numbers worthy of $5-7 mill a year.

The ball curved right around the pole.  Just as people here can say AJ stepping on Boone wasn't intentional, I could just as easily say he was adjusting his gloves because he thought it was going foul.

People just seem to overanalyze stuff like this.

Yes, because when players hit foul balls, they fling their bat, un-do their gloves and start their homerun trot...

Defending Manny is like trying to defend the positives of Saddam. Its really a lose/lose situation. Manny is highly regarded as one of the most arrogant, obnoxious, overpaid players in the game. His own team tried to drop him 2 years ago, and nobody else wanted him!

Not only that, but he DEMANDED a trade this year from the Red Sox. I dont even understand how a red sox fan can like him.

Just consider the source.
