Kyyle23
I found this sequence of articles from local cub fan-turned-ESPN reporter Gene Wojciechowski (could you have any more vowels in your name?) pretty amusing Oct 1 - he doesnt even acknowledge the possibility that the Yanks and Bosox will not make the ALCS http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2177605 Oct 2 - Priceless quote "He'll be on the Fenway mound for Saturday's game against the White Sox. Game 4 of the AL Divisional Series. " http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2179207 Oct 5 - Title of the article "South Side blowout no reason to break out brooms" http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2181188 Oct 8 - Acknowledgement, but the article was pretty much about how the Red Sox lost, more than about how the White Sox won. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2183947 what a tool. Greg The Bull Luzinski
To be honest, I wipe my ass with what Cub fans think.
YASNY
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Cub fans think. The definition of oxymoron, there.

Kyyle23
LOL. I just realized I could do a "dips*** montage" with John Donovans articles on SI.com from last week too.

JUGGERNAUT
Actually WOJO's last article was pretty complimentary, IMO <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree Kap. I think sometimes Sox fans focus on the negatives & ignore the rest. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...gene&id=2183947 By Gene Wojciechowski ESPN.com The better team not only won, it dominated. And nothing against the winner of the New York Yankees-Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Orange County get-together, but if the White Sox aren't favored in the AL Championship Series, then the oddsmakers need CAT scans. How can you doubt a team that forced the Red Sox into a playoff 0-fer, that pitched better, fielded better, managed better, ran better and, pardon the grammar, clutch-hit better? You can't, which is why the White Sox will reach the World Series for the first time since 1959. And when they do, remember why. His name is Orlando Hernandez. He pitched three of the most important innings of the White Sox's season, giving up just one hit and striking out four. And he did it without complaint. SadChiSoxFanOptimist
I agree Kap. I think sometimes Sox fans focus on the negatives & ignore the rest. Respectfully, I disagree...Like Rodney Dangerfield, our Sox have gotten little respect. Geography: dingy Southsiders vs. chic Northsiders Sox Ownership: years of insufficent investment, bad management (Terry Bevington?) and catering to corporations and high-rollers Media: Local -- Tribune/WGN-driven focus on the chi-chi Cubbies and the Wrigley field "experience" National -- (see local) Fans: Celebrated Cubs fans fill the park but know tube tops, not tube socks. Scorned long term Sox fans who know the game, don't support arrogant owners and rotten teams are called disloyal. Damn right we focus on the negatives...we have to. Gary Miller is a Cub fan, and the ESPN Cub board sucks, my ID there, GoSox800, used to obliterate it
