RIck Moran
Of course we all loved that sixth inning performance by El Duque, but I wonder how many of us truly appreciated the by-play between Hernandez and the Bosox hitters. Absolutely classic stuff! Inside baseball like that fascinates me. I wrote a little about it here: http://rightwingnuthouse.com/archives/2005...nside-baseball/ That confrontation with Veritek especially was one for the books. Did you see the Boston catcher talking to himself once the count went to one and two? Wonder what he was saying?

RIck Moran
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) I loved you in "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" Ahem...That would be Rick MORANIS...and he's no relation. Besides, I'm much better looking that he is; although that, admittedly, is not saying much. And I actually thought his performance in Ghostbusters deserved an academy award. I thought his dog acting was outstanding.

RIck Moran
QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) eh, spellings over rated. mano y mano for future refrence. and 0's are not O's Actually - and not to belabor the point - mano a mano is a form of combat meaning "hand to hand" or, literally, "hand by hand." Mano y Mano is translated as "hand and hand" or, colloquially in English holding hands - a little different meaning, yes? As for that zero as opposed to "o" - that's a bug in the Wordpress software I use for my publishing platform - but thanks for pointing it out because I know how to fix it on the page. SoxnGiants
The White Sox actually squeezed out a run in the top of the 9th. Not the bottom of the 8th, just an FYI.

hi8is
QUOTE(RIck Moran @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) The result was a weak pop-up behind home plate in foul ground caught by White Sox catcher Pierzynski for the first big out of the inning. i dont know why most news sources have been reporting this. if my memory is correct, Paulie's last name isnt Pierzynski
