NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) I was quite surprised to hear shoulder. It really looked like his back. Would a cranky shoulder cause a guy to pitch straight up and down? With a bad back, elbow, and shoulder-Colon is currently a mess Yeah, he forgot to wear his bib and all that grease from the pork chops he was eating is all over the front of his uniform right about now. Greg The Bull Luzinski
Is it too late for the angels to sign Jaime Navarro to replace Colon on their ALCS roster?

KevHead0881
Big Unit warming up right now. Good to see both teams using all their pitchers tonight.
nitetrain8601
Exactly what I said I was hoping for. Pitchers being used up. As far as Washburn, I'm pretty sure they said he isn't with the team because of his infection.

WSoxMatt
Yanks getting hosed in this game!!
chisox72
I hate saying that about the Yanks, because under normal circumstances there is NO other team in the world I would rather see get the short end of the stick. But..That play with Cano at first was an iffy call at best. Its one that could have gone either way, and I personally think that he was safe... Time to gear up for the Angels ya'll.....This Santana kid is pitching the game of his career....
Antonio Osuna
Colon and Mussina can still come back on short rest due to the relatively low number of pitches thrown.
Felix
Colon won't pitch because of his back, not his arm :\ All that weight is a tough load for his back to carry.. Edited October 11, 2005 by Felix
bulokis
I thought I heard the broadcasters saying Colon has inflammation on his right shoulder along with the back problem. Looks like its going to be the Angels that we will face tom. Who will be on their rotation? Colon? Washburn? Lackey Byrd Santa Edited October 11, 2005 by bulokis
Antonio Osuna
Colon threw just 23 pitches. Santana just 85. These guys will be well-rested soon enough. The Angels are headed for the World Series.

He's been wrong about everything he's said all season why would he be right now?? If we play the angels it's going to be one hell of a series, do our talking on the field just like the alds. ZoomSlowik
The Angels were already in deep s*** with Byrd and Washburn probably going in the first two games, now it's even worse with Colon's status up in the air. There's no way you can win a 7 game series with Byrd/Washburn/Lackey/Santana.

There's no way you can win a 7 game series with Byrd/Washburn/Lackey/Santana. I wouldn't give the Sox The AL championship yet I have seen Washburn and Byrd pitch some good games in the past against the Sox, I know there not your typical Aces but this isn't Washburns first rodeo. witesoxfan
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Colon threw just 23 pitches. Santana just 85. These guys will be well-rested soon enough. The Angels are headed for the World Series. Colon threw 23 pitches, but he will almost undoubtedly not make a start. He's injured. Or have you not been alive the past 4 hours? And Santana threw just 85 pitches - after having not thrown in an actual game since October 2nd. There's no way you can win a 7 game series with Byrd/Washburn/Lackey/Santana. That's about the exact type of rotation they won with in '02. The difference of course is that their bullpen this year is garbage compared to their bullpen in 02. Percival-Weber-Donnelly was pretty much lights out during the regular season, while good in the playoffs too, Levine was solid, Scho showed(no pun intended) up in the playoffs, and then some kid named Francisco Rodriguez just f***in went off on opposing hitters in postseason play, minus like 1 game. witesoxfan
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) And that ball that Bonds hit is still going. Bonds just f***in went off that series. I still remember the matchup everyone wanted - Percival against Bonds. Percival got like strike 1, and then the next pitch came, and it has not landed. I also clearly remember seeing Salmon saying something like "Where'd that go?"
DBAHO
QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) We got to find a way to beat a guy like Byrd. He ain't Don Drysdale but he could beat us. The good news is, Byrd's a flyball pitcher, so he's very prone to giving up the longball. We've just got to take advantage.
