Just act like he really wants to win and don't patronize Sox fans. We're not Cubs fans and won't be so easily fooled by owners who want to play us like a violin. Well put. Nobody here is saying spend millions on has beens simply because of name recognition. We've all been saying this team needs a quality starter for months now. Think JR is gonna seriously pursue a Clemens or Maddux? Get real. This, in a season, when the White Sox host the All-Star game, the taxpayers are paying for more renovations to JR's designed park(money is coming from the Soldier Field Project coincidentally), Thomas salary will be deferred (if he's on the White Sox), and ticketprices have been raised after two seasons in a row where the White Sox were fortunate to finish .500. After all this, a decent owner would ATTEMPT to turn a corner. Not JR though. He's pretty much already said there will be no "blockbuster" changes this offseason. So how do the JR sympathizers defend this?

Mike South24
Can anyone give me a good reason to like JR? Until then, stop telling me i shouldnt hate him.
Chisoxfn
I agree, its really hard to judge anyone that works under JR cause you just don't know what is their work and what is JR's. I mean, would KW of made the Ritchie deal if he could of simply went out and spend 6 million or so on a pitcher? I don't think he would of, but instead, KW is told to find a diamond in the rough and it makes it so much harder to do. Not sympathizing the move cause it was a terrible one and KW deserves the heat for making it.

aboz56
What does this thread have to do with Foulke?
Chisoxfn
Well it started with Foulke ,but eventually it turned into Foulke leaving cause JR was cheap and we all know how much people like talking about JR.
