Pauly8509CWS
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 11:47 PM) Any chance Florida will give us Luongo for free? I have NHL Centre Ice, and he's the best goalie I've seen this year. He is so good. Psh, I've said that for 2 years, see how much you listen to me... NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) Of course, it has nothing to do with the Hawks taking 800 penalties a game and traffic infront of the net. It's all the goalie and the coach's fault... Actually that IS the coaches fault. Isin't it his job to instill discipline in these guys so they dont take stupid penalties? kapkomet
These guys have no system what-so-ever. They take stupid penalties because they get beat all the time because they have no f***ing clue where they are supposed to be on the ice. It's pretty apparant. The team slowness on this club is just rediculous. These guys are either not in any kind of shape or they just dont give a rats ass. Personally I think its a little bit of both. Steve9347
it doesnt help that management puts all the stock in the world on Eric Daze and Tuomo Ruutu. These guys have NEVER been healthy. I said it when they signed him, Khabibulin is nice, but we need scoring. Bulin's just here to collect retirement. You know, kind of like Wendel Clark, Doug Gilmour, Paul Coffey, Bobby Orr, Steve Smith, etc. At least in 20 years we'll have Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin... I have to disagree with you on Steve Smith. He was awesome when he was here and had a few really good years playing alongside Chelios on the blueline. Lefty Of Love
Doesn't $Bill ever have to explain why attendance and no doubt revenues for his team in the 3rd largest market in the country suck balls? I mean, they have to, right? Nobody shows up, they have no media deals, etc. Clearly fans cannot exert any pressure on him, but what about the league and the other owners? Isn't it about time they do something?

A stadium full of empty seats will force a major shakeup. However, as long as they get even what they're getting now Dolar bill still makes a profit and he can go right on screwing over the fans. The Critic
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) I have to disagree with you on Steve Smith. He was awesome when he was here and had a few really good years playing alongside Chelios on the blueline. Yeah, that's true, but a guy like Smith is the exception that proves the rule. For every Steve Smith or Michel Goulet, you had a bucketful of Tony McKegneys and Rick Vaives. The Hawks looked pretty good at times last night, just not at enough times. Khabibulin let in a couple softies and you just can't do that against Detroit. The problem facing the Hawks is, if you get into a big enough hole the losing starts to snowball. They need to put some rubber in the cage, and fast.

Chisoxfn
Man Khaby gave up a couple really pathetic goals last night. The announcer seemed to be raving about hte Hawks though and how good they looked at times. The big thing I noticed (and Im' totally a novice) was that at times the Hawks looked like a pretty crisp team (in terms of moving and passing the puck) but at other teams they looked absolutely atrocious when it came to passing and moving the puck. I assume this lack of skill is whats killing them on offense. I don't watch enough hockey to know, but I was watching the Rangers game the night before and have been trying to catch a game or two a week and noticed how much more crisp teams look offensively opposed to the Hawks. Heck Chicago got tons of shot last night, but they only had a few quality shots. I also noticed that quite often they settled for horrid shots on power play opportunities. Oh and did I mention how awful Khaby looked. I wouldn't mind giving him two starts off just to try and get him to relax a little.

Only difference is that T-blow actually gave a s*** and he got paid a lot less.
The Critic
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Funny you should mention Vaive. I just got done watching one of my Blackhawk fight tapes and he got pummelled by various Red Wings in 3 different fights. Vaive was so frustrating to me. I remembered him being a good scorer with Toronto and then the Hawks got him and he was just average. I guess that's the difference between seeing a guy every day and just seeing stats and highlights.
CWSGuy406
Anyone watching the game? A GREAT scrap between Vandermeer and Downey? They were like a minute in, and a ref tried to break it up, and Downey shoved the ref away. Eventually, Vandermeer got in a big left that sent Downey to the ice, bloody nose (perhaps broken) and all. Anderson looking good. Made some good saves, Hawks up 2-1. Still, however, few bright spots -- Seabrook and Vorobiev look good, so does Aucoin. And, Barnaby is doing a good job at what he does very well -- be a major pain in the ass, or a real b****. The most concerning thing is Ruutu's health (or lack of it). Gosh -- it'd be such a let down if he can't stay healthy.
IlliniKrush
General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Chicago Blackhawks have signed center Martin St. Pierre to an NHL contract. St. Pierre, 22, was originally signed to an American Hockey League contract by the Norfolk Admirals in September and had reported to their training camp. For Norfolk this season, St.Pierre appeared in 9 games and scored 4 goals while adding 8 assists for 12 points with 14 penalty minutes. St. Pierre stands at 5.09 and weighs in at 180 pounds. Last season, he played for Greenville in the ECHL where he appeared in 45 games and had 14 goals and 39 assists for 53 points with 55 penalty minutes. Later in the season, he played for the Edmonton Roadrunners in the American Hockey League appearing in 18 games scoring 2 goals and adding 5 assists for 7 points with 8 penalty minutes. EvilJester99
This is without a doubt one of the worst efforts...outplayed severly and just too many stupid penelties...this team is toast. Habby looks to be a huge bust and the Hawks could only hope to be able to get rid of him somehow....
kapkomet
It's called *I* could play defense for this pathetic ass team. They have *NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO* system what-so-ever, they are undisciplined, they have not a clue where they are supposed to be on the ice, they're getting penalties because they are so much out of position and have to latch or grab on to make up for it... team speed is a part of the problem but "smarts" can make up for that. This is the coach's fault. The players that are on this team have more talent then this.
The Critic
I got home right after the game ended last night and I couldn't believe the score. This team is a shambles right now. Tallon is supposed to hold a press conference on Sunday about Ruutu's back. THAT can't be good....
CWSGuy406
Seabrook is the best. He can skate, he can handle himself in his own zone, and he can score a little bit, too. I was at the game, and he's a lot of fun to watch. Khabi also played well tonight. As a hole, our offense wasn't finishing -- so, what else is new? -- but Khabi made some nice saves, and they did alright on the PK. Borque and Vorobiev are pretty fun to watch. St Pierre -- man, I know it's only one night, but for a little guy, you'd think that he could skate a little faster than he did. Hopefully, Khabi can get on a little roll here. He looked good tonight...
DBAHO
We also traded for Andy Hilbert of Boston, gave up a 6th rounder. He scored 79 points in the AHL last season. Could be another Bourque. Oh and Ruutu's out for 12 weeks. GULP.

He scored 79 points in the AHL last season. Could be another Bourque. Oh and Ruutu's out for 12 weeks. GULP. Where'd you get the 12 week estimate, DBAHO? The Hawks website says at least 3 weeks, but no surgery and no solid timetable for his return. The back is such a tricky injury, as Daze has shown. It just never seems to completely heal. Bad news for Ruutu and the Hawks.

The Hawks website says at least 3 weeks, but no surgery and no solid timetable for his return. The back is such a tricky injury, as Daze has shown. It just never seems to completely heal. Bad news for Ruutu and the Hawks. The AP story has 3 to 12 weeks, while Rotoworld has 12 weeks. I think with Ruutu's back, and they've seen what it's done to Daze over his career, his time out will be closer to 12 than 3. No need to rush things with him and cause complications. I think with Ruutu's back, and they've seen what it's done to Daze over his career, his time out will be closer to 12 than 3. No need to rush things with him and cause complications. Thanks man. Figures that the Hawks website would try to shine the most optimistic light on it that they could. Sucks for Tuomo and for the Hawks, obviously. This is something ( like you said with Daze ) that's going to follow Ruutu around for his entire career, most likely. If his back is f***ed up now, it's certainly not going to get any better as he gets older and plays more hockey. His physical style of play will also take a toll on him physically as he ages. It's too bad.
