Palehosefan
Would be nice to get Bobby Frasor's scholarship back, what a waste. Can't do anything on the floor, too unathletic to get anywhere on the floor, and can't hit the broadside of a barn. Nice effort, but Quentin Thomas was great the whole game and Frasor ends up as the PG the last 4 minutes, this one's on you Roy.
Palehosefan
Ok, now that I've calmed down. Bobby deserves his scholly, he just had a very bad game in a crucial time, and shouldn't have been in the game at the end anyways, so not really his fault. Just sucks losing a very winnable game that could have just about solidified our spot in the tourney.

So glad we got Mario Chalmers, he hit the game winning shot against OU. This just showed me how much heart KU played with against OU, UNC came back but KU took it one step further. UNC and KU will be dangerous next year.
Rowand44
QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) This just in from Carbondale, Rowand44 won't stop hugging Randall Falker. That was really all Mullins and Randal with the nice finish. Anyways, the team play tonight was pathetic. The first half and first few minutes of the 2nd was actually a nice change of pace, more running then usual and not as well...sucky on offense. Missouri State goes to a zone and we act like we've never seen one before. You haven't seen a bad offense until you see SIU play against a zone defense, it was disgusting. Thankfully the d is one of the tops in the nation. On a side note JT didn't play tonight with the flu yet was at the arena. Just get him ready for Creighton on Saturday which is another big game. As disappointing as we played today, we gutted it out and won which was a must win, not bad against a pretty solid team.

whitesoxfan101
After watching Duke and Gonzaga pretty much win by accident the last 2 nights, I am standing by what I said which is neither of them is going to survive the 1st weekend of the dance. Duke played SEVEN guys tonight, and 3 of the 7 had 6, 0, and 2 points. That lack of depth is going to kill them when they play a team that has somebody that can hold Gay J under 35 and they aren't getting the ACC homer refs who let Shelden do whatever he wants. And that Gonzaga team is Duke West, 2 great players who get all the calls, no defense, no depth. I can't wait when everybody is shocked how early they are out, but don't say I didn't warn you. Oh, and really cool to see Southern Illinois get that big win tonight, that program Bruce built there is nice and I REALLY like Chris Lowery. Plus, that group of players they have is a group of likeable guys too, I love Mullins and honestly thought he was the better of the 2 cracker senior guard prospects last year (Mullins and Frasor). I like Tatum as well, and Randal Falker is just the coolest name you are going to find anywhere. Edited February 8, 2006 by whitesoxfan101
Rowand44
One more mvc tidbit. With UNI beating the Shockers tonight we now control our own destiny. We win out we get atleast a share of the mvc title.
Palehosefan
Game was close in the 1st half, with Duke going up 10 early on, but UNC closing the lead to 5 at the half. UNC forgot to come out for the 2nd half beginning, and turned the ball over on 6 straight possessions to fall behind by 17 points. But UNC clawed back behind Quentin Thomas, yes Quentin Thomas' leadership, and actually took the lead by 5. But Redick did his usual, and brought Duke back to a tie singlehandedly. UNC destroyed Duke on the boards, but Redick beat UNC. Roy Williams took QT out of the game at about 4 minutes left when UNC was up 5, and it was never the same. Duke closed the game on an 18-6 run. Roy made a big booboo. Redick is the NPOY, no more question.

Brian
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Missouri State goes to a zone and we act like we've never seen one before. You haven't seen That has been a problem, like free throw shooting, for SIU for years. Look last year in the 2nd round game on the tourney. They looked awful against the zone. Just kept swing passing and shooting bricks. No penetration, no hitting the gaps. Ugly stuff.

Barry has had the Salukis number for about 4 years now. He sucks it up against all of the other MVC powerhouses, and they come out and whoop on the Salukis 2 out of 3 times every year. Last week during the Wichita St/SIu game, did anyone see the diaper dandy profile on Joshua Bone? Oh man, when he gets to SIU they are gonna be something else. Next year, with Jordan Armstrong and Chris Cornelius coming off the red shirt season and Bone coming in the Salukis are going to be big, strong, and they will be able to shoot much better. I'm not throwing this year away by any means, but next year, SIU could be a Gonazaga of sorts. Obviously not a top 10 team but a mid major that can play with major teams. Brian, dont forget 4 At large bids in a row. This team has been changing into the Gonzaga mold since before Bruce left. SIU was just smart enough to keep the same system with Painter and Lowery, so they never suffered hiccups in performance. this year aint done yet, but I think next year will be unreal though, JMO. I mean in terms of competeing with major programs. I don't think SIU would of been able to beat MSU like Gonzaga did. When I was at SIU, they were climbing towards where they were now. My senior year they were in the NIT with Kent Williams and Jermaine Dearman. Than the next year was Sweet 16 and told everyone they would make it cuz I saw how good they could be. greasywheels121
Another new starting lineup. Calloway will get another shot at starting, after sparking the offense during a comeback that fell short on Saturday. Kline will be coming off the bench now too. PG-Calloway SG-Strickland SF-Wilmont PF-Vaden C-Killingsworth I have an exam, the same time this game starts. I'm pretty pissed about that. Hopefully I'll be able to see the second half, or at the very least, the end of the game. Indiana HAS to get a road win tonight; there's not going to ever be a better opportunity to get a W at Wisconsin.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk. I'm torn. If KU beats Nebraska, and ISU wins tonite, ISU can jump into fifth, and into fourth with a Texas A&M win.....but then Kansas would be another game up....so I guess I'd only wankt Nebraska to win if ISU beats KU on Saturday....I think.
