He normally keeps any bias aside, and is very knowledgable about the game. I have a feeling they brought him in to counteract the outcry over Bilas/Vitale with Duke etc though.

My favorite is still Fran Frischilla, he really goes into learning the various teams and watching the practices.

His partner larry conley, i call don hollywood.. why, because if he cant get the player's names right, why get his name right.

I agree with you for once. Fraschilla is among the best out there.

When Doug Gottlieb is talking, i'm more concerned with checking my wallet to make sure my credit cards are there than listening to what he's saying.

yeah, what is the big deal with him lately, seems like he is popping up all over the ESPN circut. He sat in for Dan Patrick a few days ago on the radio, and this morning sat in for Woody Paige on Cold Pizza. If I have to hear about his career in Europe one more time, I swear that egotistical ass clown can shove it. I really don't see what ESPN sees in this guy, he wasn't even a good player, let alone host/insider. :huh

I like Lavin, Bilas, Rece Davis, and Raftery. The rest of them either suck, are biased towards a certain league, or both.

I would also like to point out that if you put Kansas or Illinois on a neutral floor with Gonzaga right now, they'd both win by double digits. Gonzaga is the most overrated team I've seen in a long time.

although i rarely if ever agree with him, i don't mind gottlieb. it seems like most college basketball analysts are more concerned with kissing ass than providing solid analysis. every coach is a great coach, no coach should be fired, and every kid is a good kid who plays hard. i like the fact that gottlieb is at least willing to step out and offer his honest opinion, even though it is the opinion of an asshole.

Agree on the announcers, and I agree that Gonzaga is overrated, but as much as I think he is a punk, when a team in college basketball has someone that can score like Morrison can, they could be in every game they play. From an Illinois perspective, Randle could control Morrison if he could avoid fouls, and Kansas certainly plays very solid defense, but to claim a double digit win seems rash.

I do believe both teams are better than Gonzaga, but Morrsion is damn good.

He does talk about UNC every single time he announces. Makes some joke about how they should be a top team or what not.

What a brutal season for Louisville.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville center David Padgett will miss the rest of the season because of an injured left knee and is expected to be ready to play next fall.

An MRI test Tuesday revealed significant damage that will require arthroscopic surgery, coach Rick Pitino said Tuesday.

Padgett, a sophomore, averaged 11.8 points and 6.1 rebounds in 24 games this season after transferring from Kansas. Brian Johnson will most likely start in his place Wednesday night when the Cardinals (16-9 overall, 4-8 Big East) host DePaul (10-13, 3-9).

Padgett aggravated the injury in practice Monday, Pitino said. After consultation with trainer Fred Hina, it was decided to end the season and prevent further damage. Padgett will have surgery in the next few weeks, and Hina estimated recovery at two to three months.

Pitino said Padgett had been playing in pain much of the year after spraining his knee during a November scrimmage. The injury prevented Padgett from participating in practice and forced him to have treatment several times a day.
