2 mins into the 2nd half and MSU ups their lead to 17.

Jesus...MSU wouldn't miss a shot in the 2nd half. By far the best team I've seen Iowa play all year (that includes Texas and Illinois). That said they shot completely insane and once they blew up to start the half Iowa was done so MSU was able to get some easy transition points when Iowa started jacking up 3's and long rebounds ensued.

Unfortunatley, I think this win against Duke, and Wisky's huge upset loss today, pretty much assures that the Big East is the best confercence in the country, if there wasn't any doubt already.  Pittsnogle and company are next to try to make a statement for the Big East.

Isn't Pitt in the Big East and they went down today. So its not as if only the Big 10 and ACC suffered a blow.

Big 10 was the top rated conference via RPI (IIRC).

MSU just ran you guys ragged basically. They shot the ball insanely but man...every loose ball seemed to turn into 2 transition points.

In the 2nd half when we were already down by 20...yes. They don't have the firepower to come back from that far down and had the reserves in once they went down big. MSU is (talent wise) the best team in the conference and one of the 5 or 6 best teams in the country, imo.

Defensively Iowa played strong in the 1st half but in the 2nd half they got sloppy on transition D. Stinks too cause Iowa is one of the better defending teams in the country. It killed us when Hansen went down with foul trouble early on. When he's in foul trouble Iowa is in deep trouble, especially against a team with a guy like Davis.

But they were shooting 75% like midway through the 2nd half (in 2nd half shots). It was ridiculous.

Illini with a decent win on the road over Northwestern.  The game wasn't nearly as close as the score would indicate.

Next up: Minnesota, gotta beat them at home

The effort for the last 10 minutes was pathetic. They should be embarrased. And Augustine needed a pacifier today.

any big ten road win is a good one, but i can't say i was at all happy with the way illinois played in the second half today. the second-half effort was one of the worst of the year. give credit to northwestern for getting after it and making this more of a game than it looked like it was going to be.

For whatever reason they cannot make a bucket to save their lives when they try and slow the game down.

Oh well, B10 road win, I'll take it.

Nova beats Cuse by 15.  Got some college gameday and then uconn-louisville, good stuff.  I expect uconn to win this one pretty easily, but you never know with what has been going on today.

I hope they do. I want UConn to be the #1.

Florida's up 46-45 early in the 2nd half at Tennessee.

UConn up 61-55, w/ a little more than 3 minutes left.

UConn is just so good. It's incredible to see Louisville still hanging around though. They don't have Dean, and it took them 17 shots before they made a trey. They don't have anyone besides their starters either; their bench has 0 points.

All the fans here are getting fed up with Pat Knight. He's going to be taking over the program when Bob leaves, yet he's been on the radio numerous times including tonight whining about not being able to recruit elite recruits. Hey Pat, either go back in time and fix your daddy's temper problems, or shut the f*** up and get out and recruit.
