The Critic
My heart says great, my mind says bad ( long layoff, bad season vs. Anaheim, postseason debut ), so I split the difference and voted "good". There's some rationalizing for ya, huh......
Adam G
QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Think: Mark Buehrle. I wish. They had a good stat on the radio...this year when pitchers are on 4 days rest they're 19 games over .500, but when they're on 6 or more days rest they're 9 games under .500. Gene Honda Civic
QUOTE(Adam G @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) I wish. They had a good stat on the radio...this year when pitchers are on 4 days rest they're 19 games over .500, but when they're on 6 or more days rest they're 9 games under .500. Garland is 2-0 with 7 or more days rest. Oh and he's allowed 1 run in 13 innings in those starts. The Critic
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Garland is 2-0 with 7 or more days rest. That is encouraging.
Gene Honda Civic
I missed a game in 2002, he went 7 and allowed 4 earned in that game... Still that's just 5 runs in 20 IP on long rest, and I hardly think we're starting the 2002 version of Garland.

Antonio Osuna
Not awfull, but certainly bad. If he pitches well on such a long rest, I'll be amazed. I'm expecting to see Classic Garland tonight -- walks and homers galore.

JHBowden
"How will Garland be tonight?" I predict he will go nine innings and win, giving up only two runs. Edited October 15, 2005 by JHBowden
witesoxfan
There are a few people on this board that know how I felt about Garland going in. In faaaaaaaaaaaact, there are several that know how I have felt about this road trip prior to tonight's game.
YASNY
QUOTE(Adam G @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) I wish. They had a good stat on the radio...this year when pitchers are on 4 days rest they're 19 games over .500, but when they're on 6 or more days rest they're 9 games under .500. Meaningless stat. Stop and think. What kind of pitchers usually go with 6 or more days of rest? You have you spot starter and some number 5's that only pitch when there is not an off day to push the other starters back to their normal 4 days rest. In other words, generally lousy pitchers.
