Got to keep them off the score board here, it's going to be hard to score off escobar again.

 

EDIT: Also, Jose needs to be done, didn't have much today but still kept us in the game. GO TO THE PEN OZ

Yeah, but Iguchi had to know the splitter was coming. I think 99 pct of the viewing audience knew what pitch was coming.

Because if we can get 2-3 scoreless out of El Duque, that gives us our best pitchers available should the game go to Extra Innings. And if El Duque gets in trouble...we have backup for him in the form of Cotts and Politte.

 

Which would you prefer, El Duque getting into trouble in the 8th with Cotts and Politte both available, or El Duque getting into trouble in the 12th with Cotts and Politte already used up?

You don't play for extra innings, you play for the 7th, 8th and 9th.
