fathom
I'm going to say it right now: Contreras is tipping his splitter. The Astros have been on almost every one he's thrown tonight.
qwerty
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) That blows. Stupid Biggio blooper. Was biggio's hit lucky too?
fathom
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) That blows. Stupid Biggio blooper. It was a good swing up the middle. Credit the Astros for hanging in on the pitch, and blame the Sox pitcher.

joeynach
Is it just me or does anyone else think contreras is dropping down way way too much. I mean dropping down is lioek an out pitch, something for one out of every 3 or 4 pitches. He seems to be throwing it like 80% of the time. Kinda strange. Stick wityh your overpowering 4 seamer Jose. fathom
Bekrman is the best Astros hitter BY FAR! Next time there's an open base, we need to go around him.

fathom
Well, Clemens must be hurt. Sucks we couldn't get Berkman out, or we would have had all the momentum.

There was a base open and Contreras threw a meatball right down the middle. That was so bad.
Punch and Judy Garland
Wandy ROdriguez is more of a June 4th pitcher and less of an October 22nd pitcher. Hopefully he doesn't go Ervin Santana on us in long relief
CYGarland
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Bekrman is the best Astros hitter BY FAR! Next time there's an open base, we need to go around him. I don't like walking the bases loaded that early. Besides, Count k'd him earlier. He hung a forkball, and Berkman smoked it. fathom
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) I don't know about by far. THeir numbers are fairly similar. Ensberg has struggled mightily lately, and Berkman is a stud from the left side of the plate.
Punch and Judy Garland
The numbers are similar for Berkman and Ensberg but you have to remember Berkman's slow start after major knee surgery. He is a wonderful hitter. He will probably grab a batting title sometime soon.
