CWSGuy406
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) Exactly Also another reason to like this World Series. 2005 payrolls But - but - but -- I thought there's no parity in baseball? I thought that you needed a $150 million dollar payroll to win a championship? :rolly

Balta1701
Well, we're a little bit early for ACDC lyrics...so here's some fresh blood to keep us entertained until H-Hour. Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world She took the midnight train goin' anywhere Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit He took the midnight train goin' anywhere A singer in a smokey room A smell of wine and cheap perfume For a smile they can share the night It goes on and on and on and on Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard Their shadows searching in the night Streetlight people, living just to find emotion Hiding, somewhere in the night Working hard to get my fill, everybody wants a thrill Payin' anything to roll the dice, just one more time Some will win, some will lose Some were born to sing the blues Oh, the movie never ends It goes on and on and on and on (chorus) Don't stop believin' Hold on to the feelin' Streetlight people

Greg The Bull Luzinski
Right now I am as nervous as a hooker waiting to go to confession. I can't believe I am going to watch something I never thought I would see in my life time tonight. Well, it is 5'oclock somewhere. That will cure some of it. However, Clemens scares me. The clubhouse manager needs to slip him some Ex Lax.

jackie hayes
What can I add? My heart has been beating faster the last couple days. My first Sox memories are of the 1983 team. From there through the night when I was terrified the Sox were moving to Florida, the last year in old Comiskey, all the near misses in the 90's, cheering at Comiskey with my friends in the middle of another late summer Cleveland-Chicago division race, following the Sox by radio from many states away, listening in Chicago to that unbelievable win over the Twins just after Jurassic and Alomar joined the team, and the mounting anticipation of this amazing season, we've all been waiting for today. Now let's get this DONE!!! Starting today -- we've got to Clemens before, and Jose, use all your pitches, and we'll cut one more win off the 11. Go Sox!!! TLAK
This is the Rocket's line from the last time, I'm pretty sure, that he faced the White Sox, 8/26/03: New York Yankees IP H R ER BB SO HR Clemens L(12-8) 4.2 7 9 9 4 5 4 The White Sox won 13-2. Roger gave up four homers, including a memorable slam to Thomas: HR: Konerko 2 (14,2nd inning off Clemens 0 on, 2 out,8th inning off White 1 on, 0 out); Crede (16,3rd inning off Clemens 0 on, 0 out); Thomas (35,5th inning off Clemens 3 on, 1 out); Ordonez 2 (25,5th inning off Clemens 0 Two guys from tonight’s line up took him long.
