Whitewashed in '05
They lost at 3 home games. Their best hitter was terrible as well as their tablesetter. They lost, we won. They got beat. Nuff said.
FlaSoxxJim
Well, it's been hard for the Angels to show the math that proves one questionable call cost them four games.
The Ginger Kid
the post mortem on the radio was pretty funny -- of course AJ was out because he ran outside the baseline and that changed the game. But finally they had to concede that the Sox are a better team, although they said they'd like to have another shot at them with a healthy team. whatever. The Critic
Vladimir Guerrero was 1-for-20 in the series. That MIGHT have more to do with the Angels' woes than a couple of blown calls. Scioscia is a class act. I felt bad for him......for a minimicronanosecond....heh.....
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) They lost at 3 home games. DonkeyKongerko
Sweeping three games in their house should do a lot to quiet the "controversial" call of game 2. Angels fans will always remember but nationally it should become a much smaller part of the story.
Balta1701
If this series had gone 7 games and they lost in a very close run series, they might have had a point. But seriously...in 5 games, none of our starting pitchers gave up more than 3 runs. The Angels hit .175. Change 1 or 2 calls...and we win it in 6. Change the strike zone a bit in game 1, and we win it in 4.
hammerhead johnson
What are the major Angels message boards? The only one that I found was the MLB one, and god damn is that board retarded. Reading that stuff makes me feel like I'm NASA material or something.
Mercy!
Going in, I would much rather the Sox have faced the Yankees. I thought the Angels played us tough in the regular season and that we were in for a real fight. What an embarrassment for the Angels it turned out to be! The first two games were exciting. But after that, the Angels looked like they hardly deserved to be on the same playing field as the White Sox– and knew it.
