greasywheels121
QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) I smell a class-action. And the end of our love affair with Brooks Boyer. God damnit. What the f*** does this have to do with the VP of Marketing?

APPARENTLY NOT So if I could take off work and be obnoxious at 10:45 am I could get ahead of all the online orders from last night and this morning....thats pretty dumb. But if they don't charge the credit cards there is no action anyone can take.

"FANS WHO PURCHASE 2006 FULL SEASON TICKETS..." If they didn't process your order, you didn't buy tickets. It sucks, but technically true. And yes people are going to be PISSED. This whole thing was worded terribly, nobody knew what the hell was going on cause they couldn't get through on the phone and now this. Some people took a chance and had it backfire but they have every reason to be pissed here imo.

kapkomet
yea, people do have a right to be pissed off. but you have to read the whole thing - the agreement that people agreed to when they purchased allows the wiggle room to get out - the verbage "while supplies last" and if you purchase season tickets THEN you get WS tickets, etc. is all in there. s***ty? yes. but they can only do so much with what they have. But I wholeheartedly agree tthat processing the people that showed up at the 11th hour ahead of the orders that were already submitted is not cool. I don't think the reps were supposed to let on about that happening.

Oh I guarantee the scalpers did just fine...the odds are so against the casual fan in every instance to purchase high-demand tickets. I'll actually enjoy the call I'll get from them, as I'll have quite a few questions. Sidebar: when you linked the page I actually know one account executives. I remembered her interning there but now I guess she is working full time. Hmm...guess I should stay in touch with some people, would've came in handy this time :banghead
Dick Allen
They just didn't have enough time to handle all of this. Does anyone know if they had people working on this throughout the night? The main reason I figured 1000 seats from this offer and not a much larger number was the lack of time, and available tickets. They said on the news last night there were 2000 left for game 1. That appeared to be BEFORE anyone was processed. I didn't agree with the offer in the first place, and would be willing to bet many of the people who went to the offices were working for brokers. They keep the real fans away from the tickets again. Its amazing.

agame
QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) you're finally talking with some sense It's expecially frustrating because I was in touch with an account representative someone two weeks ago trying to get postseason tickets with the 2006 season ticket purchase and they said it was no longer valid. Had they kep it valid throughout the playoffs and done extra advertising they could have sold so many season tickets and been totally setup for next year. It just doesn't seem to make sense. People are throwing money at them and they are denying it. This sucks!
Steff
QUOTE(agame @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) I mean during the playoffs as well. I got in touch with someone a couple of weeks ago to ask about this offer because I was interested in doing it and knew it was offered at some point but the account representative said it was no longer valid. Ahhhh*bs*choo...
J-MAN
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) If they charge my card without calling or anything I will flip my lid for sure...I am still probably going to purchase season tix for next year but there is no way I'm putting down a 50% deposit....then I get upset As of right now I can deal. I've often stewed in my own feces before After I came down off the ceiling and cooled down I talked with my son and we agreed we will still probably buy season tickets for next year as long as they only require the 10% deposit. I seem to remember when they had the strike saying I would never go to another baseball game again! But let's admit it we're Sox fans eventually we all come back!!!! I am dissappointed in how this was handled - guess it goes back to the old saying - if something sounds too good to be true there's a catch! In the meantime lets root for our SOX IN THE WORLD SERIES. I read another thread about us Sox fans watching the game in a bar somewhere - any suggestions?
Dick Allen
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) Yep... the WHITE SOX SCREW THE FANS AGAIN. :headshake I said nothing about the White Sox screwing the fans. Ticket brokers screwed the fans, but this was botched up pretty badly. The fact was there were not many available tickets to begin with. They have never been in this situation before so they really couldn't know what to expect. I am shocked, however, that people who committed their deposits yesterday couldn't have been taken care of. Tickets could easily have been put aside, or if they were not available, emails or phone calls could have been made, as well as new customers this morning could have been told there is nothing available until people who made their deposits yesterday were taken care of. What people need to do is get full season tickets. Then you will never have a problem when the White Sox get world serious again.
