letsgoarow
does anyone know when they are announced? i think rowand, buehrel, garland and maybe even crede have a shot
Kalapse
Early November. Rowand... yes, he has a chance Buehrle... kinda Garland... same as Buehrle Crede... No
aboz56
Torii Hunter won't win this year due to injury, so yes Rowand has an excellent shot.

Felix
There is no gold glove for a specific outfield position, there are only 3 gold gloves for the outfield. All 3 could be to CF's if it happens that way.
aboz56
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) Watch out for Jeremy Reed for the GG in CF It'll be Reed, Rowand or Vernon Wells, IMO. Sizemore could also have an outside shot.

Felix
For some reason, I doubt Sizemore has a shot. Wasn't he the one who missed a fly ball at the end of the year because of the sun? That sort of thing sticks in the mind of voters.
SSH2005
It will be Ichiro, Vernon Wells, and the third spot is up for grabs.
Felix
I think Rowand has a reasonable shot at the 3rd glove, especially with the Sox getting to the World Series. People are starting to learn his name and see him play, which could lead to him getting one. also: QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) does anyone know when they are announced? i think rowand, buehrel, garland and maybe even crede have a shot Buehrle and Garland play the same position. Only 1 gold glove is given for a pitcher, so you would have to pick one or the other Edited October 22, 2005 by Felix
aboz56
QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) For some reason, I doubt Sizemore has a shot. Other than that, his fielding was outstanding all year.
Felix
Very true, and its a shame that a good year can be forgotten by one play.
SSH2005
Very true, and its a shame that a good year can be forgotten by one play. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That one botched catch was the start of the Indians tanking their season away. And I loved every bit of it.
Gene Honda Civic
Prediction... OF - Ichiro OF - Wells OF - Kotsay 1B - Tiexiera 2B - Hudson SS - Cabrera 3B - Rodriguez C - Pudge P - Rogers
Whitewashed in '05
Don't count Kotsay out.
Punch and Judy Garland
Yeha you know the stat-people will be putting Kotsays name out there but my hunch is that Rowand gets a spot. I think the Gambler is shutout in the pithcing category because of missed tiem and that other thing. Could be wrong about that though
Elcaballo45
I know because of the 15+ errors by Uribe will take him out of the running for one, but as far as clutch defensive plays for just the team, I think Uribe is the guy I want the ball hit to in the 8th/9th inning. witesoxfan
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Watch out for Jeremy Reed for the GG in CF Normally...I'd say you should. With how quiet Seattle was in the media all year, being in last place...I am not sure if you should worry about him that much.

CanOfCorn
Don't forget the HUUUUGE plays Rowand made in NY against the Yanks late in the year. Hot bed of voting media in the Big Apple.
Bubba Philips
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Don't forget the HUUUUGE plays Rowand made in NY against the Yanks late in the year. Hot bed of voting media in the Big Apple. the coaches are the people the fielders have to impress. They may forgive what we can't and see more than statistics. like range track to the ball arms(accurate throws) Leadership. I am predjudiced as hell and we don't see every team on a regular basis. My vote automatically goes to Rowand he does have instinct good track to the ball and does play all out on every play and he's on a pennant and possible wseries champ. I'd say he'll get the nod. Balta1701
AJ Pierzynski will not win a gold glove. We not only had the pitcher with the highest wild pitch total in the league...we had 2 different pitchers tied for the highest wild pitch total in the league. AJ's arm throwing out guys was nothing extremely special, and his work stopping the ball in the dirt wasn't incredible. Don't get me wrong, I love the work AJ has done this season, but he will not win a gold glove behind the plate.
