toasty
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) They were both strikes. are you umpire jerry lane with internet in your head?
Rowand44
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) They were both strikes. Disagree there, the pitch to scott was basically the same pitch jon threw for ball 4 last inning, both balls imo. The ump ain't going to get every call right though. fathom
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) That inning was very discouraging. A lot of times in the NL, facing the pitcher to lead off the inning can help get the starter in a groove on the mound.

The ump ain't going to get every call right though. Yes, but since the pitch was an offspeed pitch, the umpire was able to anticipate where it crossed the plate. I personally have no problem with any of the umpires calls so far, and that's definitely not the reason we're losing.
qwerty
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) THE KEY TO NEXT INNING: DON"T PITCH TO BERKMAN WITH RUNNERS ON Bigger key to next inning is not letting anyone get on ahead of him. Let him hit in the bottom of the fourth. Edited October 26, 2005 by qwerty

Rowand44
Breaking the bat got everett a single there, Jon would have made that play otherwise.
fathom
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) I hate Everett. The speed of the Astros has really played a factor so far, surprisingly as really only Everett and Taveras are fast.

fathom
I'm not sure why PK was just stationed at 1b. He has to give Uribe a better angle to throw the ball to first.
