Flash Tizzle
Well, looks like the early rumors of an incident--while slightly off in the manner Mrs. Biggio was assauled--were correct. It's amazing how one idiot can taint the image of every White Sox fan. The best thing that could happen is a baseball game tonight to distract the attention off this incident. Dick Allen
Well it is now the top story at chicagotribune.com, a bigger story than the passing of Rosa Parks. While the incident should never have happened and the perp should be banned from ever entering another sporting event, no charges were filed, so it probably wasn't too big a deal. S720
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) Considering how many tickets went to connected people (either through MLB, politicians, FOX, etc), what are the chances he wasn't a Sox fan at all? I am glad he is banned. For all we know, he could be a Cubs fan trying to sabotage the White Sox's image! We don't have to make this unfortunate incident into a bigger deal. It happens many times, I believe. Remember the LA Dodgers' player who got whacked by one of the Cubs fan's cellphone. Were the Cubs fans sorry for that occurence? NO! I'm pretty sure it happens at ALL stadiums. If this lady is not Biggio's wife, will this be a big deal at all? I find it funny that every media, "un-Sox" fans and all of the peoples who are not happy that the White Sox are in the World Series are the ones who want to balloon this incident in trying to make the Sox look bad! One of my coworker who is a Cubs fan told me today, "Did you hear what happened to Biggio's wife at the Cell?" I replied, "The White Sox have been in and winning the playoff games and now have won 2 World Series games, and you have NEVER mentioned anything good to me. But the moment that this unfortunate incident occured, you brought up the White Sox immediately! Stop being such an a$$hole!" The guy got arrested, and no charge was given. Let it go and MOVE ON! LosMediasBlancas
Why do these things keep happening at the Cell? The interesting part is, this was at a WS game, where seats went as high as $5,000 a pop. Is there a large number of drunken, f***head Sox fans, who just don't know how to act? JUGGERNAUT
I will never understand where this kind of mentality comes from because it is such a grave departure from my upbringing. At an early age we were taught that if you are a man YOU NEVER STRIKE A WOMAN. EVER. Doing so is cowardly & makes you a wimp. Now obviously in today's world where 25% of arrests are females you can encounter a woman who seeks to do you or your loved ones bodily harm & your instinct will be to do whatever is necc to defend them. But that's what I would call an act of desperation of self defense. In general when a woman is hitting you, kicking, you or throws something at you if you are a MAN you suck it up & laugh at her. You channel any temptation to strike back into laughter. It might be a male-chauvenist attitude but I feel it's a healthy one for society.
