What's the story behind your name?

I used to work for some people that called me Popeye. I don't look a thing like him, don't like spinach and don't smoke a pipe. They said I stuck my chin way out when I was concentrating. That turned into Mr. Eye because that's Popeye's last name. :)

Someone from the psychic friends network told me I would use this name, win 100 million dollars, and then live out my life at the playboy mansion watching the Sox win 10 consecutive World Series titles.

So far the first thing has come true, still waiting for the rest.

I got Fisk's rookie card autographed in '83 when I was only 11 years old. Sold the card years later for $500 (needed money for a vacation to Cali to visit my brother). I regret it to this day, and since it was '83 that coined the phrase Winning Ugly for the Sox, I took the name on the espn board in late 99 when I started posting there. It was also the name of my fantasy teams for years.

It has more meaning then just the '83 slogan. By getting the $500 for Fisk's rookie card autographed, I considered it me "Winning" but it was an "Ugly" way to win.

Guido said, " Settle down CubKilla" during the first inning of 2001's Sox/Cubs game at USCF (formerly Comiskey) when the Cubs bunted on Wells' fat ass and he couldn't field the ball. All the Cub fans were talking s*** after their 3 run top of the 1st because they were in first place, Wells had been taken out, and at the time, I just snapped into a curse-filled tirade. No one was safe..... no man, woman, or child if they were wearing a piece of "Cub" merchandise. C Lee hit a grandslam to win the game in the bottom of the 10th to win the game for the White Sox 7-3 and "CubKilla" was born soon after that on many a messageboard. :headbang :headbang

Mine is my first initial + middle initial + first five letters of my last name

It was the user ID assigned to me when I was in college. I started using it for everything I needed a user ID for because it makes my life easier. When I first signed up, back at WSI, I didn't realize that it would be my screen name. I was a bit of a newbie.

I know it sounds a little queer for a screen name but that is how everyone knows me now and I just don't care enough to change it. Besides I wouldn't want to go through a name change fiasco like the whole RPS, CreedeFan, MikeSouth thing

Great story and one of my favorite Sox games in recent history. It's one reason why I don't give up on CLee.

I was there as well, with three of my Cub fan friends. The driver wanted to leave in the 7th (it was tied at the time). I told him to go ahead, just put my bag behind the porta-potty so I can take the Red Line to the city and the South Shore back to Indiana. (It's a 16 mile walk from the station to my house.)

I'm glad I stayed! He ended up waiting for me and b****ed the entire way home.
