LVSoxFan
Greetings to all here and I salute you for what has been an unbelievable season, and I really, really like this board a lot. You all are very welcoming, and very funny. Just wanted to say, with the few fans that are with me, we'll be making some noise in Lakeview tonight and watching probably a lot of you on TV making a LOT of noise should this be it. They don't send cameras here because there's no point: people didn't celebrate Boston or LAA here, there won't be anyone out screaming after tonight. Perhaps you saw my letter to the editor in the Sun-Times on Friday about this very phenomenom. But raise one for us--those indians off the reservation, LOL, and behind enemy lines. We'll all be watching and going nuts. And watching you guys on TV. So from the tiny bar Monsignor Murphy's on Broadway by Wellington, we say: WE SALUTE YOU FELLOW SOX NATION! BTW is it sinking in yet? Just being there? I was in Detroit yesterday and had CNN radio on; the announcer then says "Tonight it's the World Series again with the Chicago White Sox going against..." and I double-taked. It's like I still can't believe hearing that! Surreal! Back on opening day this seemed like such a distant, distant dream--and it's HAPPENING! Amazing! GO SOX! GO SOX.COM! Antonio Osuna
I don't have anything against Native Americans, but I do object to using a "Indians" metaphor for Sox fans.

LOL I just noticed that I capitalized that, oops! Reflexive, I guess. Fixed now.

SoxPhan7
I feel the same way! i think sox fans are even more rare up here in Deerfield, it really kind of sucks when you go out to watch the game and you are the only one cheering. thatballhitdeep
I can be pretty sure that there are only 3 sox fans I have ever met since I have lived in Oklahoma City for 25 years now. One is my older brother and the reason I became a sox fan, and the other is a collegue. Seeing sox gear down here is rare, hence the reason I have been keeping MLB.com in business lately. It is fun being the only one in the bar with sox gear on....especially since we are about to be world champs

whitesoxmanager
i always said the crowd is loudest when 15,000 diehards show up! the power of the diehard voice echoes throughout the dark sky as we look upward and yell to the top of our voices "WHITESOX"! even though we cant always hear each other somehow we can feel the passion from each others bellows! after we take the WS somebody please yell out for me! look straight up and let er rip. make it echo like the detroit vendor opera man with the boom of the cleveland & oakland drummers and the clamour of nancy faust back in old comiskey while Harry & Jimmy are HOLY COWING! Yeah I had heard that about duffy's. Much bigger place too. I've been to Murphy's for all the playoff games since that Boston Friday sweep, so I've been superstitious. I watch the first four innings at home, then go to the bar. So far, so good. Although last night it was, went home, then to the bar, then home, home, home, zzzzz... BTW everybody I'm not trying to throw a pity party for me; just pointing out I wish I could be jumping up and down among Southsiders--but there's about 20 of us at Murphy's. Not surprisingly, during the '03 Cubs season the entire freakin part of the city was just mesmerized for about two weeks--every bar, every window-- like I imagine it is down South. We'll have fun don't worry. GO SOX! Edited October 26, 2005 by LVSoxFan
