bighurt2719
ok, im not trying to push anyone's buttons, but i think it would be funny if all the people who said during the season we should trade joe crede for vinny castilla or joe randa step forward and eat some crow. i'm proud to say that i never waivered all season. let's see who's humble enough to eat crow... aboz56
Uh, I think sox-r-us was the main Vinny Castilla apologist. BOW down now, Vinny Castilla sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who advocated trading Crede to get that turd should be banned. Also the Chavez people were quite comical as well. I can proudly say I never gave up on Crede, even though I got pissed at him a lot, I always believed in Joe.
Punch and Judy Garland
I don't know if I said trade Crede but I wanted us to trade for a Crede replacement which is pretty much the same thing. I sort of wanted Randa but was really hoping we'd trade for Bill Mueller.
SnB
I definitely didn't want crede starting for us in the playoffs in june. oops.

The Critic
Joe's playoff performance made up for every goddamned popup he has ever hit. I never wanted him gone, but I did call him Crediocre a few times, and I am currently enjoying my nice big plate of crow, followed with some yummy humble pie for dessert. Punch and Judy Garland
A lot of people wanted Crede out after the first playoff game because of how shaky he looked in the field. I thought it was because he was playing badly hurt.

Steve9347
um yeah, when the guy was hitting .235 over the course of the past two seasons and committing errors during the regular season, i wanted to get rid of him. of course, he has endeered himself into my heart forever, now. however, anyone who was happy with their play is an idiot. BTW, with under 300 career posts, it doesnt look like you had much to say on any subjects, bighurt2719. "well...i'm a senior and you're a freshman...haha!" just because i have less posts than you doesnt make my point or your support of a trade for vinny castilla any less valid! ISF
In the true spirit of this topic, anyone who thought replacing Pornstache with Uribe was a bad idea should also be banned. Anybody who thought not signing Ordonez was terrible should be banned. And anyone who thought trading Carlos Lee for Pantywaist was stupid should be banned. Now that we've set up the rules, when should we close down SoxTalk?

Milkman delivers
People have been eating crow for quite some time now, and to say that this topic wasn't started to rub people's faces in it is just lying. Yes, I'll gladly eat crow, and I've said I was wrong numerous times.
ISF
Everybody in this forum has been wrong at one time or another. What are the creators eating crow for? I ate my crow over the summer after a spring of making Pantywaist my whipping boy. Lame topic. We should be celebrating the trophy, not calling out fellow fans. Ahhhh, it's all in good fun. Everybody gets a plate of crow, cuz even The Human Torch, Damaso Marte, did his job in a key spot! I like a nice Weisse beer with my crow, btw.... Antonio Osuna
I'll admit I was a big-time Crede hater. As late as Game 2 of the ALDS, I was heckling him everytime he came up to bat, calling him a bum, and telling him that his presence defiled the team he was on and the uniform he wore. I'm not going to be doing that again. Ever.

I was asking for a trade or Chavez a lot. Im grudgingly softening my tone about Cruddy though in light of his good performance in the playoffs. It should be said that it is certainly possible that whoever replaced Crede would have done as good or better. You aren't necessarily wrong to have wanted Chavez. Of course, staying the course worked out briliantly
AnthraxFan93
The only person I wanted to upgrade on Crede was Chavez..ANd at the time it made sense.. Now it doesn't.. Who cares.

But before we induct him into the baseball hall of fame remember he is a very very streaky hitter. As long as Cruddy hits above 240 next year and doesnt popup every other at bat that would be nice. He has been a streaky hitter his whole career, he hits 350 for a few weeks then 190 for a month. Thank god he was hot during the playoffs. Now if he hits above 260 next year, I will eat Crow. That's my biggest beef with the guy is that he gets white hot for a while at the plate but then disappears for a month at a time. Fortunately for us he got hot at the right time and it all worked out for the good. I will give him credit though because his defense, aside from a few screwups every now and then, has been solid all year round.
