Wedge
After a decent career as a player with the White Sox and managing them to a World Series victory, does Ozzie deserve to have his number retired and to take his place on the Left Field wall of fame? Balta1701
When he actually does retire...yes. Just managing this team to a title earned a wall spot.

BamaDoc
Absolutely, when he retires in 25 years. Anyone with ten World Championships as a Sox manager should be there.
Punch and Judy Garland
Definitely he eventually will be. I would say in addition that he had a better than decent career here as a player also
greasywheels121
Yep. He'll be on there. The one thing I thought was cool is how big a face Ozzie is of this team. I was looking at the WS jerseys, and Ozzie is one of the few you can order w/out having to customize it. It's kind of cool that that is on there. I can't think of many other teams that would put a manager's jersey in the team store, and people would actually be interested in buying it. Punch and Judy Garland
I agree. La Russa and Torre and Cox are great managers but not since Whitey Herzog would I argue that there has been a manager that a fanbase was so crazy about
Milkman delivers
Ozzie is now a shoe-in with other greats such as Frank and Herbert.

Greg The Bull Luzinski
I second that. After he retires, he and Frank will be on the wall. After that, it might be a while. I would also love to see Shoeless Joe's image on the wall (he had no number). After that, we might have to wait for Mark Buehrle to retire to see another number retired. SnB
both big frank and ozzie will be on there. Frank....for obvious reasons and Ozzie, not only did he lead the team to it's first championship in 88 years, but he also had a quality career with the same team. we'll be talking about this era's team for years and years. Antonio Osuna
I think Ozzie's image will be tarnished in years to come as Sox seasons fail to live up to this one. Look how quickly things turned around in Florida, for instance. But, when we're removed from whatever valley brings us the end of Ozzie, perhaps a few years down the line, I think he's a shoe-in. Frank will be there as soon as next year, I imagine.
