Antonio Osuna
Torii Hunter has something Aaron Rowand doesn't have. Aaron Rowand has something Torii Hunter doesn't have. No need to get greedy.
GreatScott82
i'm sure if they ask Aaron if "he is upset that he didn't win the GG" he would say: "NO WAY I got a WS ring babeeee!!!!"
DonkeyKongerko
There's a pretty good chance we won't have any players win individual post season awards. I think that makes a pretty big statement about our team that we will have no Silver Sluggers, no Gold Glovers, no MVP, no Cy Young etc. I wonder how common this is with WS champions. Punch and Judy Garland
I would have understanded if Rowand had lost to Ichiro, Kotsay and Wells. Maybe even Vlad although I didn't watch his D as much this year besides the playoffs. But Hunter? This is the same BS that led to Raffy Palmeiro winning the GG at first after a total of 23 or so games. Just ridiculous. Jeter again? Wow...... wilmot825
Tori Hunter gold glove my ass......He didnt even play the whole season. Besides his defense sucked this year....MLB can kiss my ass on these gold glove winners this year.

Add in the fact that the World Series Champs didn't have a .300 hitter in the regular season too.

witesoxfan
QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) I was totally surprised to see Hunter win the GG his defensive has not Gold Glove like this past year I'm pretty sure I remember him missing a "routine" home run robbing catch this year...a play he makes almost every time. He didn't play the full season, so he didn't deserve it on principle alone...but even in the 98 games he played, he played very good defense...but not gold glove defense by any stretch of the imagination. Amazing what a reputation can do for you. The Twins could/should get a lot of value out of him in a trade, even with a disappointing season. Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Did anyone actually THINK Rowand was going to win a gold glove this season? Mate, I certaintly believed Rowand held a reasonable chance of winning the award. Honestly, I'm upset about this--not that Rowand lost in itself, but why give it to Hunter? Sounds like the All-Star balloting process where the marquee name alone, whether or not they deserve to be there, are voted in. '

I didnt think Rowand would win it. I'm just disappointed by Hunter's win. Playing 60% of the season does not an award deserve.
