DBAHO
QUOTE(He Gawn!!! @ Nov 5, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) Since the Sox bought out his contract, cant they resign him with a ton of incentive clauses. Like he has to play a certain amount of games? I dont see why not. And if that is the case, I cant imagine the Sox saying "HE GAWN!" to the Big Hurt. I love Frank, it would kill me to see him in another uni. Something like that probably seems the best option, or he'll get something around the 3-4M I'd say. My thoughts on Thomas put simply are this. History shows, he doesn't put up good numbers coming back from a major injury. He's almost at the end of his career, we shouldn't be relying on him sorely to be our DH. We need another good option in there.
GoSox05
what if they cut his leg off and gave him like a robot leg or something. I think than he could play first next year. Hell maybe even a little shortstop.

Kyyle23
QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) what is it about frank thomas that you dont like? you dont want the big hiurt back? (please dont respond to this with crunched numbers) You need to learn to read posts better, and what they are responding to. The joke was (which qwerty ripped off from me, tyvm ) saying that "Frank is Healthy", because that is what the title of the thread says. Qwerty said it, and witesoxfan laughed. Thats all. Nothing about who wants Frank and why they dont want him.
The Critic
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) what if they cut his leg off and gave him like a robot leg or something. I think than he could play first next year. Hell maybe even a little shortstop. But then you'd have to replace the other leg with a robot leg, or else his legs would be uneven and he wouldn't be able to run......and then while they're at it, howzabout replacing that weak throwing arm as well.....but then you'd have to replace the other arm too, or else it would mess up his swing...... ( 6 hours of assorted part replacement surgery later......) LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I give you...............the starting first baseman, right fielder and pitcher for Opening Day, 2006............ ROBOFRANK!!!!

Thomas missed about the last month of the season of 1999 due to an ankle injury I believe. He was the runner up for the MVP the following year. This past season, he hit 12 homers in about the span of a month, while still putting up a very good OPS of .905 or so. Hell, in his worst season to date, 2002, following his year off due to his triceps injury, he still hit 28 homers, still put up 92 RBI, and still put up an .834 OPS. And that's his worst season. NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) Any chance he could play first base if Paulie goes? Or is that something the White Sox would never look at doing again? Frank at first base is the worst option. If we lose Konerko then the common wisdom seems to be move Dye there and bring up Anderson. I can deal with that but I want Konerko coming back to be the 1st option. SSH2005
Frank will never play first base again. Come on, we just have to hope he can get healthy enough to be a full-time DH.
