considering he was what the no.1 pick you would expect a lot more from him.  He has been a solid player but not great.

Wasn't Peyton Manning the 1st pick? Woodson won the Heisman and that has nothing to do with pro potential.

EDIT:Yes Peyton Manning was picked first, follwed by Ryan Leaf (bust), Andre Wadsworth (considering I don't know if he's playing, bust), then Charles Woodson at 4th and to fill out the top five, Curtis Enis (bust.) So there are 3 players in the top 5 that can be considered busts before Charles Woodson and the only other players in the top 10 that have had a good career are Kyle Turley at the 7th pick if you want to call that a good career and Fred Taylor at the 9th pick.

Fred Taylor is a better player than Charles Woodson.

2 absolutley different positions.

With all do respect Josh, you were 9 during Woodson's senior year. He was a shut down corner. Not a lot of INT's cuz he never really tried for the big play. Just knock the ball away and cover.

He is the ONLY defensive player to win the Heisman. Cornerbacks are tough to judge because there are really no stats to compare them. You have to watch.

Woodson's first 5 or 6 NFL seasons, NFL QBs rarely threw his way.

i remember. He not only was a conerback but he was used at Wide Receiver and returned kicks I remember watching the Ohio State game in which he pretty much dominated. It has been sort of disappointing to see a lot of Michigan players be busts in the NFL. Bust is probably to strong a word however disappointing is something you could use for Woodson. It is sad to see that there has been only one legit superstar in the last 10 years to come out of Michigan in Tom Brady. On the positive Chris Perry, Braylon Edwards, and Marlon Jackson all look like they will be good players.

he-he-he

This thread is making me chuckle.

Woodson was drafted #4 overall in the 98' draft after Manning, Leaf, and Wadsworth.

You can talk "busts" in the 98' first round; but, Woodson is not among them.

For what it's worth, a little wide-reciever by the name of Randy Moss went, I believe, 21st in 98'.

Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Look on a lot of NFL lines, you will see Michigan alum, both defense and offense. None superstars, but Charles Woodson was/is a superstar. His jersey was one of the best selling a few years back.

Chris Perry got a bad deal being drafted by Cincy. With Rudi Johnson there, they may try and make him a WR.

I never said Fred Taylor wasn't a better player. I said Charles Woodson was the 2nd best player taken in the top 5 and was one of four players that weren't busts in the top 10.

Cato June is establishing himself as a very good linebacker. However I was/am very dissapointed in Tyrone Wheatley, Tim Biakabutuka, and Anthony Thomas.

Moss was painted as a trouble-maker and a "bad apple" by NFL scouts. That's why he fell to Minnesota.

He Left Notre Dame and Florida St. before going to Marshall.

He hung out with a bad crowd in High School... etc.

Yeah he has twice, but now he's hardly even playing so that why I put him with the other two running backs. I'd say he's had the better pro career out of the 3 though.

Anthony Thomas isn't playing at all. He was released by the Cowboys and is currently without a team.
