What Do You Expect?

Alrighty, I think we need to talk about some of Soxtalk's own. Does Jim work into consideration for a 40-man spot with a good 2006? Does he get traded? He throws with his left hand, which is a plus, and should be healthy. Anything more than a career minor leaguer? I'm sure he wont be offended by anything you guys say.

Bull has a few things working for him The number one thing is that he is left-handed. Number two is that he has been able to work in every concievable role as a pitcher in the minors and do it well. Number three is that Bull has put up solid numbers at every stop in the minors, barring last year when he was gutting it out and pitching over a major injury. (even then his numbers were OK after returning early from his injury) The final thing in my head is that guys like Bull tend to have their chances align and get a shot.

From his numbers and talent, it is obvious to me that he is going to be pitching at AAA, unless he has lagging problems from his injuries. When you are at that level of the minors, and if you get off to a start that catches some peoples eyes, you can get a shot. Once you get a call up, its all up to you from there.

I get the feeling he gets a shot. Maybe not with the White Sox, but then again, who knows.

Bull will get a shot somewhere. Guys just don't continually put up good numbers and not get a shot somewhere down the line in some facet.

Maybe he'll be a mop-up guy for the worst team in baseball...maybe he'll be a successful middle reliever/swingman for a pretty solid team all around. Maybe he'll come up and he just won't pitch well. No matter the case...I think he'll get a shot somewhere at some time - this assuming he continues to put up good numbers next year and the year after and so forth.

Poor,

You must have seen me pitch at the end of this past season because I was indeed throwing slop! But then again I had about 60% of arm strength and truthfully I was just trying to survive. Pitching with a f***ed up elbow and back is not fun and as a result my stuff suffered immensely. I hope you get to see me next year when I am at full strength. I wont be throwing 95 but then again I wont be throwing 80-85 either!

Wow so many questions! LOL

I am currently rehabbing my elbow and its feeling a whole hell of a lot better. I should be 100% by Spring. I have been playing light catch and there is no pain. As for my pitches, I feature a FB, SL and CH. My slider is my "out pitch". I am currently in Santa Barbara, CA. going to UCSB, trying to get closer to a degree. School is important remember that! I assume I will be in Char. this year. Hopefully I can pitch exclusively out of the pen next year. Reynoso is the only other lefty reliever we have in the upper minors so I should get a good opportunity next year. :)

Good to hear you are feeling better. I assume that the surgery wasn't needed, and that rehab was the path you all chose?

And if it is a relief role you will fill next year, GET THOSE LEFTIES OUT!!! We all know Ozzie loves a lefty specialist :)

Go get em Bull!

I saw you in Durham...maybe August? You pitched well enough to win, but the bullpen couldn't hold it for you. Hopefully having to pitch with that stuff will make you a better pitcher when the arm gets back to full strength. Either way there were tons of successful lefties that couldn't break 90. Sox had a couple of soft tossers that come to mind, Ricky Horton and Dave LaPoint. God, I don't think Horton could hit 85.
