whitesoxfan101
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051111/ap_on_...rtson_evolution Pat Robertson Warns Pa. Town of Disaster 42 minutes ago VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson warned residents of a rural Pennsylvania town Thursday that disaster may strike there because they "voted God out of your city" by ousting school board members who favored teaching intelligent design. ADVERTISEMENT All eight Dover, Pa., school board members up for re-election were defeated Tuesday after trying to introduce "intelligent design" — the belief that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power — as an alternative to the theory of evolution. "I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club." Eight families had sued the district, claiming the policy violates the constitutional separation of church and state. The federal trial concluded days before Tuesday's election, but no ruling has been issued. Later Thursday, Robertson issued a statement saying he was simply trying to point out that "our spiritual actions have consequences." "God is tolerant and loving, but we can't keep sticking our finger in his eye forever," Robertson said. "If they have future problems in Dover, I recommend they call on Charles Darwin. Maybe he can help them." Robertson made headlines this summer when he called on his daily show for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Mercy!
I think Jon Stewart has captured Pat Robertson’s essence pretty well.: “If this guy was not wearing a nice suit and didn't have a television show, he would be a urine-soaked barker on a street corner, the kind of guy who has a megaphone and is just yelling at people on the street.” I’m hoping Stewart takes a moment to train his wit on this moroon again and gives us a laugh about the Dover, PA remarks. Maybe this has been posted before, but for those who haven’t seen it and have four minutes to spare, Stewart’s bit about Robertson’s call for Hugo Chavez’s assassination is really good: http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/002322.html

I hope he does something too on this, like show a earthquake, tsunami, hurricane, and tornado rolling right through the tv studios of the 700 club and stupid Robertson sitting there like nothing has happened. JUGGERNAUT
How easily some of you are mislead: Robertson: "If there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God. You just rejected him from your city." Yet somehow you translate that to Robertson wanting disaster to fall upon that city. The absence of logic drives the people to insanity. See France. Everybody knows what Pat was saying, nobody (except Robertson followers) has been misled. To make sure of it, Pat's follow-on clarification cuts to the chase Later Thursday, Robertson issued a statement saying he was simply trying to point out that "our spiritual actions have consequences." The action in question, clearly, is the Dover vote. What do you think Robertson has in mind when he cautions to be on the lookout for the consequences of that action? The absence of logic drives the people to the 700 Club.

It's nice of you to understand that a tipping point reached after decade upon decade of ignoring, disenfranchising and systemically discriminating a large segment of the population can be chalked up to the absence of logic. I'm sure you thought it would have just been logical for Rosa Parks to follow the rules too.
